anyone coming from city centre?

Today an hour ago, there was an announcement, in city centre, and some of the lights went off and lift and escalators too stopped . the announcement just said 'Attention please' thats all. all of us stood around the round grill and watched for a while. some started moving down slowling via the escalator and we saw 2 men in fire safety uniform running up and down.
we just came out of the mall. and later saw the all were standing outsode the mall and it was like mall was evacuated.
what was it? any idea?
Is is a fire drill or something?
pl. give some info if u were there ..
