Any wannabe models?
Does anyone over 18 want to try their hand at some modelling for photos on the Corniche or other public places? I supply some online photo libraries with pictures for use in adverts, articles, blogs etc. so there's nothing dodgy about it. You would have to sign "model release" forms to allow people to use photos of you. In return you would get a disc with high-quality pictures of you for your personal use.
I could do families (including children) as well as individuals or couples.
Anyone interested can e-mail me at [email protected], preferably attaching a small photo of yourself.
mallrat - another example; someone advertised for baby models recently on QL. I forwarded it to my friends who have a 10 day old baby, they went along to the shoot, and came back with a few free prints of some amazing photos of their new baby.
They helped they lady as she now has photos for her new website, and they came away happy with their photos. Win-win. No money involved.
Mallrat, let me explain. I cannot pay models because I do not have any assurance that I will get anything at all back from these photos.
Once my pictures are approved by a stock library they are competing for sales with literally millions of others. A picture might never sell (many don't) - or it might make me hundreds of dollars, I simply don't know. My rough expectation is that a photo session will make me between $20 and $200 over the next two years.
So far, I have concentrated on travel and food photography. This thread is a way of getting into model shooting. If it turns out well and I exceed my modest expectations, then later on maybe I will hire models. In the meantime, I want to test the water in a new genre and to pay prospective models with free photos shot on top-quality gear. I don't know where hypocrisy comes into it.
Tallg - the awful truth is that ugly doesn't sell too well, but that doesn't mean it isn't "allowed".
