Any new expatriates?

I am getting closer to the VISA process and was wondering if there are any new expats, American and otherwise, in Medical City in Doha. I'm very excited and would love to know what you were prepared for and what you wish you knew sooner. I was also interested in what recreational activities do you like the best. We bike, kayak, check out wildlife, and take photos. Did the bike trail get completed?

My husband and I both like to cook. When we return to the states he wants to own a food truck. Do they have food trucks in Doha?

The most interesting thing here are the people. They come from everywhere in the world. It is a great adventure to learn about all the cultures. There is no wildlife in Doha. It is like living on the moon. Very little greenery, but lots of sand and dirt. There are things to photograph, however, and tons of clubs to join. You may wish to join the American Women's Association--google it as it will help you get your feet on the ground.

The bars are good here and the Americans that don't drink before they come pick up a good drinking habit. Helps you get through the week.
