I would agree. Pretty good group of people. Great way to meet others.

After the summer Hiatus, the Canadians in Qatar group whould be resuming their functions and get togethers. It's a great way to meet fellow canucks out here. You guys should come, even if alone...the whole point is to meet people.

Everyone's kinda gone for the summer - but there is an email listing that you send your email to, and then they respond back.

I got here a few months ago, and haven't even tried meeting any new Canadians yet :)

BUT, I hear that they do some cool stuff, they had the Canadian Ball a couple of months ago, they play hockey at one of the mall's iceskating arenas, and a lot of them do socialize and keep themselves busy.

It is pretty quiet here, and it takes some time to get settled in. Everyone makes themselves VERY busy with work :) You should pick up a copy of a magazine/book called Marhaba - has lots of useful information.
