Ansar gallery Barwa Commercial Avenue, Abu Hamour, Doha – Apple Iphone 4s, cheating customers?

An 'iphone 4s' with two different serial numbers – super "INFERIOR QUALITY" charger cable and headphones with "BLUE TINT" and many other "OUTSTANDING" features – Sounds Interesting ???
YES!!! This is what I got from Ansar gallery Barwa Commercial Avenue, Abu Hamour, Doha on 2nd of June 2015. That was my first purchase from them and OBVIOUSLY the last either. Qatar, being a country which has strict quality check and rules in this regard, I never had a second thought regarding the quality or genuineness of the product that I was about to purchase that too, a globally famous brand "Apple" from a reputed retailer – "Ansar gallery Barwa Commercial Avenue, Abu Hamour"

I am hundred percent sure that you will never regret for the time that you are going to spend right now for reading this article even though it is quite a longer one. When I had unboxed the phone at the mobile counter at the time of purchase and tried switching on the iPhone it was not happening, when asked the sales man had told me there is a chance that the battery might be zero percent, which is totally UNSUAL for a fresh brand new iPhone. I charged the device at home and switched on (thank God! At least it was happening there) opened the sim tray to check the serial number before configuring my "BRAND NEW" iPhone 4s that came with the original packaging and not with a fully white "apple certified pre owned refurbished box". There started the interesting stuffs, the serial number that which I could find on the sim tray and later inside the iphone after configuration, is entirely different from the one which is printed on the backside of the iPhone box. Next, I observed the charging device what I found was a blue tint hard to flex charger cable instead of the pure white easy to flex genuine apple charger that comes with the brand new iPhone package. Same was the case of the headphones either, blue tint, hard to flex, etc.

The most interesting fact is that when I tried tracking the details on purchase, warranty etc of the iPhone in apple website's "Check Your Service and Support Coverage" section, it showed different details for my two different serial numbers and for both the warranty part as follows :-
1) Telephone Technical Support: Expired
2) Repairs and Service Coverage: Expired

I wonder how this could happen if my iPhone is a brand new as the sales personnel claims it to be? I did this post configuring and activating the iphone with a new sim inserted in it. Meanwhile, I had checked with an apple reseller store in Wakra and they clearly said that the product which I am possessing as "iPhone" is not under apple's warranty. Then later I had a couple of conversation over the phone with the Ansar gallery personnel regarding all these and as they suggested I went to Ansar gallery Barwa Commercial Avenue, Abu Hamour, Doha along with my iphone package and bill. There started the drama and got quite interesting replies and answers from them that lacks at least one percent of logic.

Firstly, they said that they are offering ANSAR GALLERY warranty and not APPLE warranty. I doubt whether I bought from them an "ANSAR IPHONE" or an "APPLE IPHONE". I also doubt they expect me to fly from my home country to Doha whenever I experience any defect with my iPhone when am outside Doha.

Secondly, regarding the multiple serial numbers they have "no answer" – may be a packing mistake (remember am talking about a global brand – apple)

Thirdly, when it comes to the inferior quality accessories, including charger cable and headphones, the reply is – "this is what we got from our supplier". The most interesting incident then took place was that they opened a fresh iPhone 4s box in front of me to substantiate their point and "Yes!" Surprisingly that was also having these same quality accessories. They said all the boxes have same thing. So are they selling all the boxes with inferior quality products thereby misguiding customers and claiming they sell only "BRAND NEW"?

Here comes the fourth and most irresponsible yet "funny" and "strange" SOLUTION. They cannot either replace the phone with a "real" brand new one or cannot do anything regarding this from their side. The solution is that – they can give me their supplier's contact number and I should check with the suppliers to get a solution for this. I wonder "how a seller could give such an irresponsible and illogic response to a customer?" I don't have to bother about who the supplier for Ansar Gallery is or what kind of product they had supplied to them. Because in the event of my purchase, I am the buyer and Ansar gallery Barwa Commercial Avenue, Abu Hamour, Doha is the seller. Now anyone who is reading this would be having the same question aroused in my mind – "What a customer has to do with the suppliers to Ansar Gallery?"

To conclude, I never expected all these unfair, indecent and irresponsible mishaps from a reputed retail store – Ansar gallery Barwa Commercial Avenue, Abu Hamour, Doha and that too with regard to a global standard branded product – Apple Iphone. I suggest you from my WORST experience that when or if you plan to make a purchase for this iPhone from there think and decide, and once you buy the iPhone from them, please check it properly with utmost care and make sure that what you are getting for your money is a worthy, genuine and standard product. Do not blindly believe it from packaging or brand symbols etc. As I mentioned in the beginning of this article, I believed Qatar is a nation that has strict rules on sales, licensing, quality inspection etc. but unfortunately this is the first and worst experience I ever had in my life.

JokerQL and zackm, Thank you very much for reading and understanding. Yes, I know about refurbished policy of apple, and so, I specifically repeatedly asked Ansar personnel regarding this and they insist their product is BRAND NEW and not at all an apple certified refurbished piece. @zackm, I asked for money back also, for which they were not agreeing for. Regarding Consumer Protection Department, am new here so do not have anyone to help me out or to assist me, Joined my job very recently

by the way the number you see on sim tray, inside phone and box is IMEI number, all should match for a brand new phone.

You have got a manufacturer / seller refurbished phone. there are 1000s available online cheaper than Ansar. It should be like, one of their supplier for bought large quantity of refurbished phones and gave it to ansar for their opening promo.

Since you have 14 days return policy in Qatar (yeah, you can just return the product and get your money back if you don't like it if its in good condition the way you bought it. )

anyway if that doesn't work then all what you have to do is, click the below link and follow the instruction.
