Germany has 52 million registered vehicles and 3,459 traffic fatalities per year. That means for 15,033 cars there is one casualty. Qatar has 647,878 registered vehicles and 330 casualties per year. Compared to the numbers of Germany Qatar should have 43 casualties. The number of traffic casualties is 7.7 times higher than in Germany. Mabrouk! Another record!

The attitude of the drivers here is the sole problem.

Qatar roads needs to become safer with the following focused efforts like:

1. Powerful enforcement of traffic laws

2. Strong check on the high speeders

3. Good training and awareness

4. Tailgaters to be suspended for one month.

5. The traffic officials should be asked to meet and see the grieving families of Qatar's road victims and see how painful and ruining is the result of the weak enforcement of traffic laws on Qatar's roads.

One day visit the Salwa Road, near Aqua Park, sit aside and just see the cars passing like missiles. A little mistake by any one whether by other vehicle or a pedestrian, is fatal for sure, because of very high speed. No mobile radar is there, to keep a check on them?

Does it cost high?.

If these missiles are allowed, then fatalities shall remain phenomenal and far above than the world average.

Yes the accident rate is high .. Probably due to a number of factors including - easier tests in Qatar ; lack of road manners / road sense
