So many people look after strays and 'abandoned' pets - and any formal system of care and re-homing is thwarted.

To get an idea of the scale of the issue: How many locally acquired pets/strays do you have or look after?

But please be careful, and make sure that they have all the vaccinations they can. Fleas are not an issue here but FIV, Feline Leukaemia and cat flu are. So make sure they are vaccinated and be prepared to adopt more...

We are coming to Doha in May, and we are going to have to re-house our beloved Malamutes(Dogs similar but larger than a Husky) with some new owners before we come as i fear the heat will be to much to bear for them.

We are bringing our 2 cats and 1 hamster(3-legs) with us when we move.......

Man i wish i could bring my dogs!!!!

FASTER, FASTER, FASTER, till the fear of death subsides

We bought our cats over from oz, so can't risk taking in a stray animal......however I do try to donate as much as I can.

I'm so glad there are so many people here who care enough about animals to take them in :)

I found 2 gorgeous kittens hanging around my apartment block when we 1st arrived and couldn't resist taking the little darlings in.

They were so undernourished and ill, but thankfully after lots of cuddles and love, they are healthy gorgeous cats.

I am pathetic when it comes to animals, if it wasn't for my husband our apartment would be like a zoo...

In the past...... 1 cat, Many many birds and 5 dogs.....all rescues.

In Dubai...... 2 dogs found and homed

In Bahrain..... 2 puppies homed

Currently I have two rescues as my own pets.

Here in Qatar.....One dalmation which I found and rehomed, one saluki, found and homed, and little "delilah" found and currently up for adoption, but at least at the moment she is being helped by some wonderful QL'rs here.

My parents have one cat that we got from QAWS, and I have my little baby that I found on the street when I was living in Korea, she has since visited more countries than most people and has to be the world's most expensive cat, but I adore her.

abandoned dogs which are our pets. I have found too many kittens since being here and passed them on, another dog we found and passed on. I feed the wild birds everyday. I would never ever buy a pet, i would get them from a rescue shelter! Im my mind everyone should have at least one furry friend to keep them company!
