Al Shaqab Car Rental
Warning to renters-
I rented a car with Al Shaqab last week, with the intention to rent with them until next summer.
They had good rates, and seemed reasonable on the phone.
However, a day after renting, mechanical issues started to set in. They hadn't properly maintained or tuned the vehicle.
When I called them to return it, nobody came to pick it up (though it was mutually agreed upon that they would pick up in the event of an accident, or if it needed maintenance).
After 4 days of them ignoring my calls, or saying that they were ''leaving the office now'', I dropped it off to them, with the help of some family members.
They charged me for the days that it was unused and waiting to be picked up. After explaining to them that it's their responsibility to rent out USABLE vehicles, the manager yelled at us, and stormed off.
If you want to deal with disrespectful, incapable, and dishonest individuals, rent with Al Shaqab!
Yeah and this Mr. Rahim did quite a good deal of yelling himself as well.
Same thing happened with me on Jumbo rent a car, I had a small accident and kept asking them for 7 month to take the car and fix it, once I gave the car back and they took a month's worth for repairs, they came back later on and told me that I need to pay for the time that the car was in the Garage "2.x Month" out of which I was 1.5 month out of the country no vacation. So they wanted me to bear the responsibility of their administrative misery. That is apart from the half a dozen times I cancelled meetings to wait for them to come and take the car and they simply did not show up, and the GM some Mr. Rahim tells me it is MY responsibility to remind THEM. So much for customer service.
Really its bad to hear that
I have rented with this company myself and after my dealings with them i would say it is hard to believe any of their staff or their manager would yell. I found them to be quite placid. Maybe a cultural thing? Even i had trouble communicating with them in the beginning but sorted it out with persistence.
I stuck with them because of bad experiences with other seemingly 'polished' and fancy companies.
trust me, try to make sure they understand you point of view.
Oh ofcourse, ignore all of the above in case they have sold out again (in the past 6 months). Cos in that case i wouldn't know the new people.
for sharing,
just go to the police and file a complaint along with the agreement papers.
lol TB!
I have been looking for a disrespectful, incapable, and dishonest company for ages. Thanks for letting me know, I will pop around a little later ;)
