Al Samriya compound

Hi everyone,

I will be moving to Doha in August, and I just found out from my employer that I'll be living in Al Samriya compound. I can't find any info on it online. Does anyone have any impressions about it at all? (Like, where it is, what amenities are there, what the community is like, etc).

I have never lived in the Middle East so this will be an adventure, for sure. Any information at this point will help to ease my mind.
