AL Rafa Polyclinic Shutdown by authorities

3-4 days ago the authorities from supreme council of health, made a sudden raid on Al Rafa Polyclinic near jaidah bridge .They shutdown the clinic and selaed the place. All the doctors working have been suspended and the clinic stopped from functioning due to high level of infection inside and other malpractice related issues. When approached to get appointment for the doctors there yesterday this was told by one staff there.

I am a regular visitor of Alrafa polyclinic, They have very good doctors...Iam a regular visitor of Dr.nazar Moopan, He is one of the leading doctor in Doha, qatar. I think they closed for some renovation because the building is very old. Dr.Moopens group is the largest health care group in GCC. ....when ever i visited ....all the times doctors are busy with patients.....Hope they will open soon.......

Mintipop has become a member in Qatar Living just to post this. He is a member for past 4 days. That means he is not trustworthy. He could be one among the jealous community on the success of Aster.

Well closed, renovation or whatever atleast maintain a clean and presentable place and the right attitude.  Its indeed strange that the whole clinic was closed at one go for renovations

guys,

i am a frequent visitor of alrafa polyclinic.the comments will be a misunderstanding or something else...the doctors of alrafa is very popular in doha.i think there is no malpractice or any other offences.might be they wil be closed for renovation it seems.

i think this is a well planned conspiracy among some people behind this to spoil the goodwill.

Al Rafa Polyclinic now under the banner of "Aster" has enjoyed the trust of Public for the past 8 years or so. Mintipop has blown things out of proportion.1. The Clinic has not be shut down and sealed. If it is so there will be notices or stricker seals in place on the doors. there is nothing ofhat sort.2. If clinic is suspended/stopped for mal practices/infection control issues this is a serious offence and not only the Musherib branch but also all branches under this institution will be close since all under the same licence and CR.3.Unless its a doctors mistake or serious mal practice offence no Doctor wil be suspended. Only the doctor invoved will be suspended. The probability of all doctors doing Malpractice is absolutely nil.4. No Staff working in AL Rafa will give these kind of Hoax informationThe clinic has been closed for immediate maintanance which will finish soon and re open in a day or two.

Some people just are in the habit of blowing everything out of proportion. There is nothing unusual about health authorities suspending a health service due to quality related issues. What is the point in making such huge news of it here? If the SCH asked them to bring about some good changes, we should be just happy that the authorities are actually monitoring the health facilities. We should not just rejoice in a clinic being shut down just for the heck of it.

I HAD VISITED ASTER THIS MORNING.... LOT OF WORK GOING ON THERE. CHECKED WITH A FRIEND WORKING THERE, IT SEEMS THE SCH HAS ASKED TO MAKE SOME CHANGES IN THE CLINIC.THEY ARE DOING IT NOW. IT MIGHT BE OVER BY TONIGHT AND IT SEEMS THEY MIGHT RESTART THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW..ITS A GREAT LOSS THAT THEY ARE CLOSED FOR MAINTANACE. LOT OF GOOD DOCTORS AND VERY GOOD TREATMENT.I HAVE PERSONAL EXPERIENCE... I HAVE SEEN A LOT OF DOCTORS IN DOHA... BUT MY PROBLEM WAS SOLVED BY DR. NAZAR MOOPAN. HOPE THEY START IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS.IT IT WAS BAD AND NOT GOOD AT ALL, WHY DO PEOPLE GO THERE. ITS BECAUSE OF GOOD TREATMENT AND DOCTORS.GUYS, SPARE A THOUGHT

I was just wondering why Govt authorities took this long to shut it down. I have visited few time and the hygiene and cleanliness was appaling. The owner has many clinics around GCC and never bother investing money for setting up  clinics in a good building or maintain the clinic in a safe environment. The clinic was functioning in a run down building, no parking facilities, the interior of the clinic felt it was never cleaned for weeks etc...I think next they should be targeting Appolo hospital and then Gulf Cinema for violating hygene standards.God bless those patients and public

No clinic in GCC can close for renovation. There was an inspection by SCH and it is closed.

I was there today morning and I saw a few guys chipping at the tiles on the front door. The security guy told me that there is some maintenance work going on and they may re-open to-night or tomorrow. Havnt seen any news in the papers either. Should be concerning if true

One guy from our company went there last week for his follow up and found it closed, the reason given was renovation. Now that was a hastly taken decision to renovate i thought. But for the last three days it has been closed. Its under DM group i think,it is a reputable group but GOD knows what happened.
