I put on lots of weight too the first time I quit smoking. Don't worry though, the second time goes much better!

Just kidding … try joining a gym/fitness class.

Good luck, it's hard but worth it :)

you have it so right! You can come and admire my new belly when i see u tonight! Its great, i can wobble it and rest my hands on it now when driving!!! Its such fun!!!

Ram you are also right with you comments!! Im not too fussed about losing it - i mean its a really good excuse to go out and buy new clothes now as none of my others fit me! JBH thank you for that it explains it! Im eating less now than i did when i smoked i mean i have alwasy eaten a lot of junk food and now im on a health kick like ryvita, and bran flakes and salad hmph!

Its just will it ever stop or will i be walking through doors sideways as i wont be able to fit through them? Will my husband mistake me for a big biffa bin and start throwing rubbish at me? oh dear better not stop the drinking i guess!

love life!

you're probably snacking or eating more without realizing it

before, you used to keep your hands busy with a cigarette. now, you might be finding some tasty snacks keep the hands busy.

wow, what do you do when you drink? that's the hardest part - to be able to drink and NOT smoke.

keep it up! yay!!! (the not smoking)

sure it will do .. JBH is telling u the truth and not only that .. u will feel that ur desire for sex increased too cuz the mono carbon oxide affect u like the anesthetic ..and u will feel that u sleep less hours too .. look charmed i had this experience b4 when i stopped smoking (wish i can stop it again) but wut u have to do is as follow:

1- don't drink more coffee or tea cuz they r equally proportional with the nicotine ... more cafine will cuz more headech n the feeling of smoking again.

2- if u r eating 3 or 2 meals per day .. try to eat only one meal having a lot of vegetables and GREEN SALAD. green salad is very important to keep ur weight n with a good health.

3- if u were walking for 1 hour while u were smoker then walk for about 2 to 3 hrs when u stop it.

4- don't eat small meals between meals if u r going to continue on eating 2 or 3. stop eating snack n pie. instead try to put a pencil or sugar free gum inside ur mouth.

i stopped smoking for 6 months without even a cigarette and i succeeded to keep my weight as it is ... but for some miserable reasons i started smoking again and i can't quit smoking any more .. plus with no activities here in qatar i gained about 10 kgs. while i'm still smoker... go on ur goal don't think about smoking again even if u r going to be like an elephant. it's better to be fatty and not smoker than to be very slim with that sh*t poison in ur body.

Good Luck i hope it help u

The smoking causes the villi in your intesting to not absorb nutrients properly.

These are constantly fixing / cleaning themselves but the smoking keeps them not working properly.

Therefore when you stop smoking they fix themselves and absorb more nutrients.

So you put weight on from eating the same ammount.

I recomend going vegetarian and cutting out dairy products for a while.

The different flavours will be enjoyable and the decrease in fats will definately help.

I'm not a real doctor y'know.

I know it looks aweful and feels bad, but it's not always that bad.

Positive attitude is the first thing you should do. It helps the entire process.

I can pass you a nice diet that consists of multiple meals a day, thus u won't feel hungry and have something to nibble on every 3-4 hours.

Drop me a line on my email and we can discuss further!

Cheers

cut out chocolates and fast food. Drink lots of water. Walk a lot not just now and then.
