Accident @ Al-Khor (04 July 2011)
Has anyone heard about the accident that happened today at the Al-Khor highway this morning. A tyre blast on a van carrying nurses working for the Hamad General Hospital overturned and there are reports of fatalities being reported. No recent updates available. If you have further details, pls. share. This would have probably happened due to very high speed and poor tyre conditions. Urging everyone to check your tyres especially during summer times here in Qatar. May God bless you all.
Thank you all for your good tips and advices. Let us pray that such incidents never happen in any of our lives or to the ones we love. Respect and follow the law of this country and obey the speed limits.
Speeding is not a habit cultured by matured drivers. Anyone can drive a vehicle in high speed however a matured driver always thinks about safety and concern of fellow drivers and drive peacefully.
With much patience, your safety is always assured. Always before starting your day and starting your vehicle; have a word of prayer and submit your lives under the mighty powerful hands of God. God bless and protect everyone.

Our condolences to those who lost their loved ones and prayers for a speedy recoveryfor the injured. One observation that was made is that the three who lost their lives at the spot were ejected (thrown out) of the vehicle.! It can be safely assumed that if they had been wearing seatbelts these deaths could have been avoided.....They most probably would have escaped with only injuries..It is high time that the seat belt rule is enforced for all occupants of a vehicle and not just the front seat passengers..This maybe a case of closing the stable door after the horse has bolted but definitely would help in reducing fatal accidents in the future....Just a thought!!!!!Lets make a start by pledging to ensure that ALL passengers including those in the rear seat are properly belted/restrained before starting the vehicle!!!!

Drivers being late should be fired because he can't come on time (simple time management). As long as he comes on time he doesnt have to worry bout his passenger being late. Passengers should adjust their watches & not worry about bullying as long as he comes on time. Driving fast and sometimes recklessly is never an answer. The control is always with the drivers. Reality Check the driver is always in command while he's driving same as any other transporation big or small..right? The responsibility is in their hand and not with the passengers...
arrived late, they blame or even cursed the driver. When the driver drive slow, they will tell him to go faster because they are already late. It's a case to case basis. Why blame the driver all the time for this service vehicles. True, there are reckless driver, it should be reported with or without accident. But in reality, they will leave Doha late and trust the driver to get them there on time (whatever it takes).Check the reality! Make this a painful lesson and work how to remedy and improve the situation. Not to blame anyone!
for the record, ive seen a lot of tires busted going to mesaieed but on the moderate speed, the main issue is the DRIVER... if the driver can control the speed... then its regardless what kind of tires you have... the best thing to do is charge the DRIVER with RECKLESSNESS and PUT IN PRISON FOR YEARS AND DEPORT HIM... and it should be a PUT INTO LAW...
may the almighty rest their souls in peace..

Find out why these drivers are always involved in car accident..this is for real no joke: &feature=fvsrIn Saudi license is very easy to obtain (excluding Dubai) and when they transfer to qatar all they have to do is replace it by qatar license. The transportation & licensing section should review this process everybody should take this mandatory driving tests. The process of 90hrs of mandatory training for driving school is excellent. Our company had fired 10 drivers hired from saudia for totalling 15 pick-ups..in just one year.

Am I correct in saying that this is the second fatal accident on this stretch of road due to tyre blow outs within days? Is there something that has be shed on the road causing these accidents?
