This covers some of India's past and present glory.

We do have criminals, bureaucrats and hypocrites.

Scientifically all actions have an equal and opposite reaction.

This thread should not be started in the first place but since it's already here.. then let me burst things out..

I've been to India a couple of times and I would say Indians back home are entirely different from those who stay here in Doha, Indians back home are more polite and they surely know how to value an individual being a visitor to their country. everything is cheap in India food to start with (although i dont really eat hot chillied food) so I usually request for chicken chukka with less chili and the cook politely grant my request..

Countryside of India is one of their treasures but I think the Government should know how to value and enhance the coountryside.. Got few friends from India and I should say that they are good people specially those who know where they stand..

Guys, each country have their positive and negative things, Yes we may hear this and that but the fact still remains that we are people of different cultures different backgrounds and sensitivity. It is expected that another nationality will say something about the other but I think it's better to learn the word RESPECT.. Let's respect each nationality wherever we are so they will respect us as well.. Remember the Law of Karma and the saying "dont do unto others what you dont want others do unto you" so there...

whether u callme sick or me being in the same boat with anyone who has suffered like me with indians! we know not all people are same but indians are the same even if they prettend to be nice DONT trust them. talking about stoping visas for indians i can say not to all expatries all other nationalities are very great people i gave example about srilankans, philipinos ,nepal are very great people clean mind and body! and we really happy even dealing with them but not indians! many of poeple get terminated bcz of indians , no promotions, no increaments all bcz indians boss! they are sick and very bad heart people! they are really good if they are house maid or cleaner but not when they are our boss.

From bad to worse, I doubt if the world will ever be a wonderful place to live in. Likes and dislikes are a part of life. Weak will always dislike the strong and the poor will always want to be the rich. This is fate and life of all of us.

Meaningful, appreciate your side of the story and honesty, comon dont make a general statement, The word Good ever came in to existence, it was for the word Bad, The Beautiful - The Ugly and so on.

Why does everyone forget that Qatar was made in the 1970's by those strong Pathans, who gave their sweat & blood to lay electricity cable, sewer piple lines under this earth, why do you guys forget the poor labourers (Indian, Pakitani's, Bangladeshi, Filipino's etc) who have worked day and night to make wonderful buildings and make qatar what it is today.

Its just not about blocking the Indian VISA's, I assure you if you remove the expats from the country all the Masjids around Doha will be empty.

Have the broad vision, I myself have had the good & bad side of people be it anyone.

I understand your personal opinion, after all the world does not depend on one personal beliefs. Life is short, seperate the good from the bad it will be all better.

Have a nice Weekend.

You will never know who are indians if you are not living around arabian gulf ,if you havent work in oman, qatar , saudi, kuwait, emirate or bahrain!! here because unfortunately we, arabs wants them to work for us its a result came out that they behave as if these are their countries! i do really dont like them at all and this is my truth if anyone be offended or dont like what i say then let it be! but they are so so bad people i know you will think im generalising people but i have been through a lot ..a lot in my life due to indians! ive never met a good indian in my life if you think there good and bad everywhere in the world but not compare to indians ..if he/she be good with you , you must know that its because either you are he/her boss or he/she needs something from you thats why he/she prettends to be good! they effected my life a lot till even thinking or hearing the word india or indians ariteting me a lottttt...it is not one or two indians but i met many many back home, dubai and here in qatar they are all the same and the funy thing is: it is not only me who say this but there a lot of people i met are complaning a lot about indians, my two friends are suffering for the same, i work with other one sudanese guy,and few filipinos we are all in the same boat! they are crying for the same. Unfortunately where i work now is full of indians : they are great on gossiping, harrasing, big liers! , they can do anything even hurting someone just for them to get what they want, no matter whether they are muslims or christians or hindus or any but if you work with indian my dear friend just be careful!! and also they like talking very bad about arabs though they are in arab countries surviving to get something to send to their families but still arabs are bad! and always are saying in india we have this ...in india we have that ..in india so and so..well if in india u have everything what are u doing here then?.........im sorry guys the topic touched me a lot because they are the couse of me getting lot of pain! just be very very careful if u deal with any of them, they are good in making false stories, and they are well on acting bossy! i swear if i could i would stop indian visas to any of gulf country! there are great people like fillipinos who well educated , clean mind and body..why we dont have many of them instead of indians? we have our brothers in syria, lebanon, palestine they are well educated , clean mind and body why not them insited of these nation which shakes their head like snake?! this is me , i wrote this according to 20 years experience living with indians arround.

what you wrote is correct. even i am an indian but i find most of the men who are staying batchleors and less qualified are doing this type of job. i got very good experience. If we wear good dress or costmetics and friendly with everyone they feel jeleous. Most of the people I have seen once they reach the top position first they will screw to the Indians and stop others benefit if we are more qulified than them they will not allow us to deal with the management. We have to take permission from them to see the chairman or managing direct. Others they are scared. Men are worst than women for gossipping. If we leave from the office little early for our personal work with co - workers or company driver they will imagine and create some story. she might have gone for meeting some man. That too staying in a decent way with husband or wife. I have seen some people who are claiming that he is pastor and many times i have seen that keeping bible in armpit praying and healing people recently took my mobile number and given to other people and asking them to make call to my mobile and saying bad words. Finally capital police took him and kept one day in station every thing is clear. This is I am talking about some kerala people. That too working in same office. Why because we are not paying attention to their masala topic that too aged and middle aged man. Thinking of others all the time, they do not have time to think of their own family and getting heart valve blocked heart attack etc. Why? It is not only that I found few people are trying to make prblem in between good friends. Saying all imaginary stories she is like do not talk with her. I just want to ask them one thing is their wife and daughters were in the same field or how they knew all other ladies are like this. Stupids

Equally we have another Indian employee who is well educated, annoying, stupid, arrogant and self centered. So what? Indians are no different from anyone else so why are we having this dumb conversation.

Sincerely i do not know where all of u got all these good attributes of Indians from, but as for me before i came to doha,i used to think indians are very good and nice people but since i got here reverse has been the case cos i av been working wth a few of them and they are giving me a lot of problems not only me though, everybody in my offce is complaining,no one likes them cos they are selfish and only think of themselves, they are always looking for the down fall of others and they gossip alot,i av never seen men gossips like the indian men. They just get on my NERVES.

These alone has changed my perspective of indians.

Iam not saying we dont have nice indians but i think the bad ones are more.Iam sorry if i offended any indian in the house, but if u feel and u know u are a nice person, then u should not feel bad about what i av written

You must realize that there is a huge difference between the middle class and the low income or poor class in India.

If you interact with the intellect class, you will see that they have good lifestyle and class. For obvious reasons this will be lacking in the other class.

Another point is that you will find drastic difference in Lifestyle and spending style for people from North India and South India.

I would say India is a beautiful country, but then there are somethings beautiful about every country. Also, there are lots of problems in India just like any other country.

It's also breathtakingly beautiful in many places and heartbreakingly poor in others - but the memories stay very vivid long after you've left. As for Indian people, like any other culture there are wonderful and not so much but I have many Indian friends in Canada who are quirky fun people.

Talking about wearing a suit?...let me tell u my friend, first of all, its not our traditional dress..so you cant rate us on wearing a suit ...its totally western but we try to adopt the culture to cop up with the society and international standard.

There are lots of Indian traditional clothes...whch we are very good at presenting ourselves.

Talking about India, Indian population is much more as compared to any other nationalities..(especially keralites..)..so there are more chances to find good, better bad and worse ppl around ...

How to spot an Indian.........!!!!!??????????

anywhere in the world???????

* You try and re-use gift wrappers, gift boxes, and of course aluminum

foil.

* You are standing next to the two largest size suitcases at the airport

* You arrive one or two hours late to a party, and think it's normal.

* You peel the stamps off letters that the Postal Service missed to stamp.

* Your toilet has a plastic bowl next to the commode.

* All your children have pet names, which sound nowhere close to their real

names.

* You talk for an hour at the front door when leaving someone's house.

* You load up the family car with as many people as possible.

* You use plastic to cover anything new in your house whether it's the

remote control, VCR, carpet or new couch.

* You live with your parents even if you are 40 years old. (And they like

it that way).

* If she is NOT your daughter, you always take interest in knowing whose

daughter has run with whose son and feel it's your duty to spread the

word.

* You only make long distance calls after 11pm.

* If you don't live at home, when your parents call, they ask if you've

eaten, even if it's midnight.

* When your parents meet Indian for the first time and talk for a few

minutes, you soon discover they are your relatives.

* Your parents don't realize phone connections to foreign countries have

improved in the last two decades, and still scream at the top of their

lungs while talking.

* You have bed sheets on your sofas so as to keep them from getting dirty.

* It's embarrassing if your wedding has less than 600 people.

* You list your daughter as "fair and slim" in the matrimonial no matter

what she looks like.

* Everything you eat is savored with garlic, onions and chilies.

* You're always interested to know/interfere in others personal matters,

what they are doing, where they are going, etc.

* You have really enjoyed reading this mail because you know some, or most

of them, apply to you!

When I was young I belived all the feeds I got regarding a particular country. Later I discovered most of them was rubbish.

Lot of people won't be able to open their mind for answering this question.

I mean , i never ever have heard this type of questions from other communities..Thats not a great question as to what u think of a 1 billion + community . how can one have a general impression for all of Indians. There are greastest people in the world born in India, and there are so many crooks too.

If u are just concerned about how others will treat u , then all u have to do is comb ur hair nicely, spend just 4-500QAR on good clothes , shoes , etc ,and put on a show. Pls don't bother what others opinion.

Dear Friends

I am a regular traveller of india for last 20 years whenever i go on home leave from workplaces in gulf.

Many non indian travellers claim that you will turn in to a different and better person after your experience with india.

My observations about india

1. India is huge country with every imaginable landscape, people and nature, from deserts to cold himalayas, from rain forests of south and North east to Sunderbans, Mangrove forest. Rivers, lakes, mountains, different oceans, islands, deltas and marine life.

2. In gulf its said that there are people of 72 nationalities in india, quite true ! We have people almost from many nationalities, Iranians, Israeli's, chinese, and so on....

3. Arts and culture-There are so many classical dances, song and music forms in addition to several hundred folk dances, songs and music forms. Contemporary is competing with Hollywood !

4. Cuisine- Cuisine is varied. You can eat several types of cuisins during the day at different restaurants or as paying guests etc.

5. Connectivity- You can travel on buses, trains and flights for days together and yet cant see even a half of it !

6. You really dont need language to travel, many signs are in english. People are friendly.Language anyway changes every 12 miles in india.

7. There are freakout places where young and old tourist can stay for months together these are

Goa, Vashishta( Manali),Varkala, Varanasi, Hrishikesh,Hamphi.

These places are naturally beautiful and you can walk few kilometers daily with sightseeing and food/ drinks.

You may feel like staying there for months together.

8. If you had enough with the mainland, then go to islands which are quite, andamans or Lakshadweep, far bigger, cheaper than mauritius in size and numbers.

9. Living and travelling in india is cheap than many other countries, so you can make most out of your money !

Enjoy !

Before I came to the Gulf, I had a fairly good impression of Indians - but after being here for 4 years my impression of them has changed to the worse.

well, India is big country i have been in several parts of india and what I think about india and indians? well its very big country with a beautiful countryside, though the cities arent clean and mumbai is extraordinarily over populated.

the people care more about what they do , they dont care about the rest of the world they all seem busy and they arent troublemakers.

If I say i have to write about india and indians its gonna take ages....so that is the first episode!

Poverty is not for the sake of hardship. No, it is there because nothing exists but God. Poverty unlocks the door -- what a blessed key!

I think india is beautiful...haven’t been there either.. but one friend of mine was there, and she was so much impressed by Mumbai .. they stayed at absolutely gorgeous hotel, with absolutely unique outstanding architecture and design..

...but surely, there are two sides of india: gorgeous, extremely rich, luxurious, highly educated, possessing a top professionalism and huge potential…

..and unfortunately there is another india: poverty, illiteracy, diseases, the surplus population...

… and such and such and such..
