38 private companies penalised

Gulf times news today-THE Ministry of Labour has penalised 38 private companies for violating the provisions of labour law.
It suspended transactions of the private companies from the November 23 to 27.
The labour department said that the decision to suspend the transactions of the companies was part of the current intensive campaign conducted by the department’s inspectors to tighten control over the private sector companies’ and urge them to abide by the labour law.

i hope they (govt) 'll do more of this intensive campaign... if they will conduct this to all the companies here, d'ya think a single company will remain fully functional (...maybe one or two?)

What does "suspending the transactions" for a short period mean ?

Do they lose money ? If so, will they try and get it back from abusing the workers further..
