Sorry Pal, dinna hae it in my heart too... We are more patriotic outside of the country that we are in it...

But in saying that, I am not too fond of the Yanks and Crouts so could be changing my mind on some of the teams !!!

Adey,

Thanks for posting this which came timely as i missed the live show.

Brazil & Germany are lucky for this!

I expect England to be determined this time and get something done. I am sure they will be considering the tough experience during last few world cups and would discharge thier full potential. Keep an eye on Gerard!

But having seen the American team lately, i am sure this group will be tough!

Conclusion, I expect Brazil to win this cup given thier ability to endure! I suspect that the backup team could win too! so injuries is not an issue to them!

Messi to do a Garrincha or Maradona and win the world cup on his own.. That's my prediction...

How do Spain become the faves in the betting lines when they have to play the runner-up (or winner) from the 'Group of DEATH'?

Brazil win, they play Portugal. Portugal win, they play Brazil. Ivory Coast....etc etc ad nauseum.

My England got a very good draw, I actually think Algeria are more of a threat than USA, not saying U.S are to be taken lightly but you're talking about a country where football is....well, you saw the Egypt embargo, it is life and death there, not just Saturday afternoon entertainment or filler between the World Series and the Superbowl.

Slovenia? Again a lucky scrape considering the teams in the pot. Yes they 'beat the Russians' but they played pretty shocking football at times and by the time we meet them the group should be wrapped up by then.

The French must be absolutely elated this evening, they have gotten away with murder on the highest level, and are essentially the 'seed' from Group A.

The Irish are rolling over in their graves....

proud I am not offended at all.. If you think Ivory Coast is a one man team then think again, If you really follow football then you will know their other players too and trust me they are good.. Ronaldo in full flight against Brazil's defense??? I know where I will be putting my money. And have you ever seen a game involving North Korea, they are tough... Anyway to each its own and let's wait for June to see what happens..

By the way I played for India under 17 squad once so know a little bit about the game.. Cheers..

With all due respect, if you are really from India, I hope you know more about cricket than you know about football... Brazil in the group of Death? North Korea, Ivory Coast (the one man team) and Portugal (trust me, we know their game!)? Are you kidding, right? If you just want to offend people who really know something (just a little) about the game, you got it! By the way, many comments supporting England... COM'ON GUYS, we all must have hope in our lives, but believe with that team they can win a World Cup... people, you are really one of a kind!

sand, will be putting my name down for tickets (again!!!) so hopefully the beers will be flowing at the games.

They did get that terrible decision in 2006 against Italy else who knows.. Anyway I like Tim Cahill so guess will be rooting for them..

Flan you promise to buy a round of beer for every goal they score?

i've got every confidence in the boys making it past the first round.

socceroos will surprise.......as usual.

You need very quick wing backs to defend against them, that's from what I have seen of North Korea...

By DohaDiesel• 4 Dec 2009 22:28
DohaDiesel

If only Scotland was there, we would show how its done. (Thats me dreaming again)

I think the one to watch are the North Koreans, Truthfully, can anyone here make any comment on their playing ability ???

By adey• 4 Dec 2009 22:26

England could be playing the Aussies in the last 16. Winners of England group play runners-up of Aussie group and vica versa.

We'll see......

Most teams lean on 3 or 4 star-players and if 2 of these are injured, the whole teams functions differently.

Argentina is indeed not what it was, but do have potential.

What worries me the most is South Africa, stupid tourists will be robbed, killed and abused and NO police force can stop this. If you go, stay safe! Move in groups and by all means do not wander the streets trying to safe a buck on a taxi ride.

By edifis• 4 Dec 2009 22:13

Same with Group E! Although Germany are the Heavyweights in that group but Denmark, Cameroon and Japan might surprise!

One reason Brit why they can... LIONEL MESSI!!!!

Yes Harmagedon but I just hope that Messi lights up this world cup.. Couldn't believe my eyes when he was kept on the bench in 2006..

I actually give England a good chance, more than Spain. Fortunately, Netherlands will shine and rise to the top.

Brazil have gone down from joint favourite with Spain to 3rd favourite due to the group they have drawn.

Latest betting is Spain as favorite followed by England then Brazil in 3rd.

Sandeep,

I agree, but Group B is also fairly heavy.

Can't wait for the ever annoying Maradonna to cry his eye-balls out...... the coke-sniffing wanker.

Rating: 2/5

What a long , drawn out affair. The only saving grace was Charlize ...........Swoon :O)

The draw seems a bit of a fix designed to have all the big teams going through.

I go for Spain or England to win..
