1 Million Hijabs for Shaima

One million women worldwide will show their support for a brutally murdered Iraqi immigrant by posting pictures of themselves wearing hijab headscarves as part of a global campaign.
Muslim mother-of-five Shaima Alawadi was found beaten and unconscious in her San Diego home last month in an apparent killing which officials described as a 'hate crime'.
Now as a show of solidarity towards the female Islamic community, one million women - many of whom are non-Muslim - have posted photos of themselves wearing the traditional headscarf.

She is indeed, Mandi.
I hope this crime will be solved soon.
If it was a hate crime, if it was an "honor" killing, Shaima is still a victim.

There seems to be a slight change....http://news.yahoo.com/murder-iraqi-american-woman-may-not-hate-crime-103922375.html
Fight for a good cause peacefully.
Great move. Hate crimes are an abomination on our society.
I am there with Shaima on Facebook also.

Good Job!!!
I have a pic of me in full hijab from my days in Saudi...will send it in!
In times of strife and hate, hearing of such a drive is both heart-melting and dynamic! kudos to all those women involved in a truly worthy cause...ie to end hate!
SubhanAllah... her death is like of a martyr and has motivated Non Muslim women to show resepect by wearing the hijaab... Its a great sign that we still have the common ground of humanity to get along in.
TFS :)
Indeed. Just the other day an immigrant woman from Congo was killed in Eastern part of Moscow Russia.
A mosque was vandalized in Norway Churches were burnt in Nigeria. Eritrean and Somalia refuges continue to get kidnapped and have their organs stolen by organ traffickers others get killed and shot down at close range at the Israel-Egyptian borders.
