Can Qatar salvage the 2022 bid?
By frenchieman •
In light of the growing media and political attention to the 2018 and 2022 bidding process, do you think Qatar will be able to keep its 2022 bid intact in the long run? Predictions?
For those not already familiar with the stories:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2011/may/15/grovelling-fa-world-cup
Even the Gulf Times has begun to cover the story, so it is clearly on the national radar.
you're right ahmed. think positive:)
well, we all hope qatar will still can manage to host the 2022 world cup but untill most probably many things will change due to the political revolutions in the region that might affect the security terms! which leads to tough decisions from the FIFA.
Surely Qatar can...
It brings good fortune to all people here including expats.
They'll do everything to keep it...
That includes increasing eveyones salary too:)
I think England should not concentrate on winning HOSTING rights, but concentrate on winning the bloody competition! ENGLAND FOR 2014!!!! (Yeah like that'll ever happen)! :-(
England will bid for the 2026 World Cup, they'll again get 2 votes and say that China bribed or provided gifts to get the hosting rights. England needs to get over it. The World Cups in Russia and Qatar are gonna be spectacular...
Always think positively
Always think positively
are the social media that interested in all these things?
These days evidence seems to be completely irrelevant, it all seems to be about who can shout loudest! Well let's see how loud Triesman can shout?!!!
s_isale--There was some, but Qatar is not the US and that was before the rise of new social media, which makes things like this move faster and with more intensity.
But this is not about fairness, justice, etc., it is about what you think will happen.
Most of the commentators do paid reporting anyway.
was there the same clamor for Salt Lake city?
s_isale--No. But you have to know that commentators are going to start clamoring for it and then the politicians.
2022 is a long way away. If the scandal gets more traction and IF HARD evidence comes to light, then FIFA (under new leadership and guidelines) will have no choice but to reconsider. Either way my sense is that this story will never go away and mar the cup no matter how good a show Russia and Qatar puts on.
does it mention anywhere the bid will be revoked
