UDC sponsors the Emir Sword Show Jumping Championship

United Development Company (UDC), a leading Qatari shareholding company and master developer of The Pearl-Qatar, signed a sponsorship agreement with the Qatar Equestrian Federation announcing the Company’s sponsorship of the Emir Sword Show Jumping Championship 2015’s second category (b), which begins on Wednesday and concludes on Thursday, The two-day event will be held in the indoor arena of the QEF, under the patronage of HH the Emir, and the participation of a large number of Qatari and resident horse riders.
The press conference announcing the sponsorship was held at the Qatar Equestrian Federation in the presence of its General Secretary Khalid bin Safar al-Hajri, and Hussain Akbar Al Baker, representing UDC in his capacity as, Senior Events & Marketing Manager, in addition to officials from both establishments. UDC also received a token of appreciation in recognition of its contribution to the success of the Emir Sword Show Jumping Championship for the third consecutive year.
During the press conference, QEF General Secretary Khalid bin Safar al-Hajri received UDC’s sponsorship check, handed by Hussein Akbar al-Baker.
The QEF General Secretary emphasised in his address the event’s importance as the richest Arabian race that holds a prestigious standing in the State of Qatar, particularly as it bears the name of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani. 
“HH The Emir Equestrian Sword tournament continues to grow in stature and in value benefiting from the generous support of sponsors such as UDC whose involvement helps the Qatar Equestrian Federation maintain the prestige of this wonderful celebration of the horse and equestrianism in Qatar,” he said.
For his part, Hussain Akbar al-Baker, said: “We at UDC look at this tournament as one of the most valuable sporting events with Qatar emerging as an exceptional sporting hub in the region and equestrian sports being part of Qatar and the Arab world’s heritage.” 
“Horse racing is also more than just a competitive and popular sport; it is the true embodiment of a long tradition that brings us closer to our Qatari roots. In this sense, it is an honour to be able to contribute to the preservation of this legacy and to support professional Qatari riders in showcasing their skills and developing their immense potential in addition to rewarding their season-long efforts and achievements as they represent the State of Qatar in various sporting events, at regional and international levels.”
