MAN is hosting the final round of Service Quality Award (SQA) 2013/2014 competition in Berlin on April 9, 2014, in its hunt for the Best MAN Workshop from Europe, Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Africa, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.
The contest, which already commenced in summer 2013, under the theme, ‘The competition that shows the way’, will see 21 international teams competing against each other to claim the prestigious award.
Amongst the 21 teams to secure spots in the final face-off are two MAN teams from the Middle East, including Qatar International Automobiles from Doha, Qatar and a MAN service workshop from Abu Dhabi, UAE. For the Qatari Service team it is already the 3rd time to be invited to Germany to compete with MAN workshops from all over the world.
According to Rudolf Wiegand, Vice President, After Sales, MAN Middle East, “The SQA was launched in 2010 with an objective of consistently improving standards of employee training and service quality in the interest of enhancing the service experience for MAN customers. The awards have become a real benchmark for MAN to rate our best performing workshops and has elevated standards across the globe so that aspiring workshops can claim the recognition and privilege of being ranked among the best in the global MAN network. The Middle East region in particular has been performing very well reinforcing MAN’s commitment to providing the best service experience for our customers and I am delighted to see these two teams make it to the finals.”
This year, 800 registered workshops participated in the competition to qualify for the global finals. All the teams were subjected to several tests in the form of theoretical examinations on purchase warranties, servicing and genuine parts. Every workshop’s customer-service practices were also put under scrutiny during the initial rounds.
At the final stage of the competition in Berlin, all the teams will be put through strenuous practical tasks to assess their competence in servicing faulty trucks and buses. Finalists will be faced with the task of identifying and fixing defects in the assigned vehicle in the shortest time possible. The winning team will receive a 4-day trip to a destination which will be revealed during the finals.
