Doha, Qatar – 24 February 2015:  Al Khaliji Commercial Bank (al khaliji) Q.S.C. hosted The Gulf English School students for a tour around the Bank, at the Landmark Branch and the bank’s headquarters, where they were introduced to al khaliji’s basic day to day operations along with numerous banking concepts.

This initiative comes as part of al khaliji’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme and in line with the bank’s efforts to support the human development pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030.

Students from grades 10 & 11 attended  presentations on various banking activities including , Personal Banking, Compliance, IT Security, Treasury, Corporate, International and Commercial Banking.

The presentations  also covered various interesting topics such as the main framework of banking, how banks function, why banks are important to the economy and what banks offer to their personal customers.

"al khaliji believes that engaging students at this phase of their learning and academic path would help them shape their future career and guide their interest in the financial and banking sector. " Said Fahad Al Khalifa, al khaliji Group Chief Executive Officer. "These students are the future generation and we aim to empower them and provide them with hands on experiences that will enable them to make sound decisions as they prepare  for their higher education" the GCEO added.

As a ‘next generation bank’, al khaliji regularly organises initiatives to spread knowledge for undergraduates, university and school students, as the bank strives to be involved with the Qatar’s future talent to help ensure their knowledge is sufficient and their skills are fine-tuned
