The 5th edition of the Qatar International Businesswomen Forum
The 5th edition of the Qatar International Businesswomen Forum, which will be held on the 16th and 17th of December 2014 at the St. Regis Doha Hotel in Qatar, will include new discussions on human development, women empowerment, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and entrepreneurship.
A one and a half hour session on the Qatar National Vision 2030 plan will open the discussions at the Forum. This session will highlight Qatar's ambitious national journey of human development and sustainable economic diversification built on human capital.
It will also touch upon the plan's Economic Development and Responsible Growth objectives, as well as that on Women Empowerment and their increasing role in the economic, political and cultural development of the country.
The second session of the Forum will then dwell on the topic of 'Businesswomen as Innovators and Entrepreneurs: A Continuing Update on Opportunities, Challenges, Skills and Success'.
With a total of five sessions throughout the two-day event, there will also be keynote speeches in between sessions that will be delivered by distinguished personalities from the public and private sector, who will elaborate on the widening opportunities for women to be among the future business and socio-political leaders of society.
The second day of the Forum begins with the third session, which will touch on the topic of 'Businesswomen and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)'. This will be followed by the fourth session on 'Social Responsibility Strategies for Reducing Poverty, Generating Investment and Trade, and Improving Business Performance'.
On both sessions, a number of key people from the region and beyond will discuss the latest trends and strategies on CSR. The Forum then closes with its fifth and final session on 'Social innovation in Principle and Practice: Does it have a Meaningful Impact'.
"From the list of extremely significant topics to be discussed at this year's fifth edition, we believe that the Qatar International Businesswomen Forum will once again prove to be a success," said Aisha Alfardan, Vice Chairwoman of the Qatari Businesswomen Association.
"As we aim to build further knowledge and confidence among women in Qatar, we believe that participants of the Forum will benefit from the expert insights of speakers, which would in turn enable them to take a much wider role in leading the country's growth and development aspirations."
For his part, Mr Raed Chehaib, Chief Executive Officer of Interactive Business Network commented: "Our researchers have pooled together some of the most relevant topics related to the issue of women empowerment in this part of the world."
Organised by the Qatari Businesswomen Association in collaboration with Interactive Business Network, the main theme of the Forum will be 'Business Women and the New Age of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Social Responsibility'.
