Why most people enjoy the Christmas season?

crist2508
By crist2508

I am a Christian...
Eversince I was a child I always find Christmas season as unique to the rest of the season. One maybe of the cold winter season and it is the time when you want to be close to your most dear ones ...

How about other religion, do they also enjoy the Christmas season?

It's Christmas and it doesn't matter who you are ... that is the essence ... to make us all feel welcome and at home

I believe it is not Hippocracy if such word exist ... the point is you feel it inside even if you dont show it physically and you share the feeling of the spirit ...

Just keep feeling it for that is how you should celebrate Christmas!

Britexpat - I wonder if we, as a society are becoming more cynical and losing the real meaning of Xmas..

Having visited Blighty during December after many years, i am surprised and saddened by the lack of festive spirit. In the old days, most homes in the street had tress or lights in the window.. Now, hardly any.."

I don't think it's the losing of the Xmas spirit that's the cause of the lack of festive spirit. I was in Perth for a short holiday recently and my friend's wife said that the decorations were nothing like previous years - this year was very toned down.People have been hit bad by the financial crisis and are cutting costs.

Having said that, it was fabulous being home in KL for a short while recently. I didn't have much time but did make it to a few shopping complexes and the decorations were very nice indeed and mood-lifting.

The good old days should be shining somewhere in this planet still ... like in our town, starting November you will see every family decorating their houses with Christmas lights, the sparkling colors that blends with that Christmas color of red, green and gold. You will then hear Carolers going to each houses in the evening to sing and greet you Merry Christmas. You will see different ways of showing the christmas spirit in each home... i miss them all...

We want to enjoy Christmas in Qatar ... is there any Holiday declared on 24 and 25?

Why the feast of other religions being recognize here but not Christmas which the most import feast for Christians?

We can already see growing communities who starts decorating there property with Christmas lights and decors ... let's enjoy the christmas here in Qatar ... lets join the party...

Each person has its own way of celebrating Christmas, get together with friends and family and sharing some fine dinner, wine and get some fun, enjoying ham, cheese and all kinds of food according to their culture and traditions, giving gifts to those close to them and to the less fortunate, playing and singing Christmas carols , play parlor games to share the spirit and moments together or just chatting to exchange knowledge and idea... but all these you will need to spend both time, effort and money and this is because you want to enjoy and celebrate as most people do when they celebrate their Birthday.

It is the time when you remember your love once, as Jesus has given us the great example of how to love, forgive and share yourself to others even if you spend your whole lifetime and money ... and its his birthday celebration.

I believe that only those who see the light will be able to understand the true meaning of Christmas and enjoy its reason and blessings.

I was visiting my Muslim friends in the US and we were talking about holiday celebrations, especially among families who have both Christian and Muslim members (not unuaual here.) Their little boy asked me, "Does Santa visit houses where people don't believe in him?" After an awkward pause I had a brilliant idea. "Ask your Dad!" I blurted out.

of all the holidays,i particularly cherished christmas not only because I am a christian but also because it always reminds me of family get together and sharing happy moments with all my loved ones- from the grandparents down to the youngest member of the extended family. when I was still a kid and mom is still alive, she always bought goodies, wrapped them and tell us to give them to our playmates- even those who bullied us! it taught me about spirit of generosity and forgivenes without her directly telling me. now that im an adult and far from home and family, those christmas moments are always a balm to my loneliness and struggles. and when i will be a mom in the future, i shall continue to celebrate christmas with my kids the way my parents showed me how- by sharing our blessings to others.

-lots of sale happening during christmas time

-long vacation

-most godmothers/godfathers are too generous during this time

-gift-giving is not a big issue

(this is of course from the commercial side of view)

For Christians, this is the most celebrated season of the year. No need to explain more.

Every mans view on how to celebrate Christmas is respected.

For most people the message that Christmas bring is "Giving and sharing their Blessings to others". It doesn't matter if you are giving material things or you just share your love, time and tender care to another.
