Your report “French Parliament sets up inquiry into the burqa” shows how a country like France is wasting time in discussing the burqa in parliament. I would have been pleased if they had discussed rising unemployment in their country and global financial crises instead of the burqa.
President Sarkozy must realise that the burqa gives physical protection to a woman and thousands of various Muslim scholars have justified it.
If a newspaper prints a cartoon of the Prophet, the West calls it the freedom of expression and when a president of a country is interfering in a religious decree, the whole world is silent.
I believe the burqa is a thousand times better than bikinis and skirts. The West has always portrayed woman as a symbol of sex and business whereas Islam has given woman a respectable place in society.
