US wants Gulf to bail out Auto Industry
You have to read this article:
Imagine the Gulf Countries won't know where the money goes it could easily go to support Israel. Or since the US is broke maybe they have to use that money to support their own for a change. Not to mention it would mess up their own economies! I never thought I would see the day but here it is! Do Americans know where the money would come from? The Israelis are currently in the process of destroying all means of Palestinians in Gaza to communicate with the outside world soon we will not be able to see or hear how many they are slaughtering, nice huh?

Yes, the government is actually playing the game quite well. Controlling the mining so as not to exhaust the wealth or affect the markets.
Cities like Jubail and Yanbu are also trying to diversify and move away from oil based products, but its going to be a long haul..
Maaden have some of the best gold mining technology in the world. There's also lots of rubies around too by all accounts.

Brit and I thought it was a secret...lol these mineral and gold reserves...lol

Valid point. KACST (King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology) are supposed to be working on this..
Problem: Sausi also has an abundance of untapped minerals and gold reserves.
Logic: If oil runs out, we can always develop these.
Yes balders.. There is other hidden Treasures in Saudi which have not been uncovered yet..I can't tell you top secret at the moment..

HE WHO DARES WINS
If you take away oil fields cities and tiny % of arable land in Saudi, you have a country that could realistically use solar power to export to the whole of the region. They need to realize this BEFORE the oil runs out!

baldrick2dogs.....with the most sun & wind...too...that is really sad.
But Dubai is building the largest solar panel plant in the Middle East:

Jackmohan ... And yet the smallest user of PV power is the region with the most sun - sad really isn't it?

And Photovoltaics dominated by Japan, China & Germany almost equally
The top ten global photovoltaic manufacturers in 2007 accounted for 53% of global production. These companies produced:
* 389.2 MW Q-Cells (Germany)
* 363.0 MW Sharp (Japan)
* 336.0 MW Suntech (China)
* 207.0 MW Kyocera (Japan)
* 200.0 MW First Solar (USA)
* 176.4 MW Motech Solar (Taiwan)
* 170.0 MW SolarWorld1 (Germany)
* 165.0 MW Sanyo (Japan)
* 145.5 MW Yingli (China)
* 132.4 MW JA Solar Holdings (China)
Total Japan =735MW China =613MW, Germany=559.2MW & US just 200 MW

I think US couldnt cash in on the Green Revolution...the way it did with the Films Evolution, Automobile Revolution, Industrial Revolution & Computer Revolution.
Computer revolution happened due to the NASA expansion and space race with Russia...the revolution started around the 40s but took the world by storm around the 80s with the comming of PCs, Macs, Windows, Intel, AMDs, etc.
Although US had the lead in Automobile revolution it was not too keen on energy efficient and small cars unlike the Japanese.
Not only that there are hardly any any "Quantity" Industries in any Photovoltics, Wind & Bio-fuels sectors...
Maybe with Obama at the helm things might change.
One eg:
Top 10 wind turbine manufacturers: (Dominated by Germany)
1. Vestas (Denmark)
2. GE Energy (United States)
3. Gamesa (Spain)
4. Enercon (Germany)
5. Suzlon (India)
6. Siemens (Germany)
7. Acciona (Spain)
8. Goldwind (China - PRC)
9. Nordex (Germany)
10. Sinovel (China - PRC)
11. Fuhrlander (Germany)
Except for a few...even the names are unfamiliar ....
I guess the GCC banks put the final nail in the coffin of Automobile companies by restricting Loans to prospective car buyers see thread:

I am sure you don't realize it their is a campaign in America to bail out the American people, America doesn't even have money to help their own yet we still send aid to Israel etc. No private company should be bailed out leads to a very bad precedent, if you have a multi million dollar company and run it badly then the taxpayers should help you continue to do a bad job? All our Mom and Pop shops in America are all shut as they can't compete with the likes of Walmart.
Not a valid argument. If the US auto makers fail, then the Japanes, Korean and Chinese will fill their void.
I am not one for bailing out auto makers, whether American or British. They are private companies who have not moved with the times. The taxpayer must not foot the bill for their past mistakes.
The oil consumption will not go down only because of the bankruptcy of US automakers. Their markets will be distributed to other automakers, even to some new automakers.
There will be cars to drive but ones that are safe and worth buying, the auto industry in America is a mess if they can't build safe cars for at an appropriate price like any other industry they go broke. We all buy a product based on its price and quality.
Just what I was thinking Scarlett.. No cars no oil required.. we all get laid off and sent back home...

the Middle East giving the money, but think about it...if the US car makers fail, the Middle East loses it largest customer and the demand for oil will drastically decline, thus undermining the economy here.
Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked,the good fortune to run into the ones I do,and the eyesight to tell the difference.
our government has already had to float the auto companies many millions of dollars to keep them working. America has been supporting its own as long as its been in existance.
Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked,the good fortune to run into the ones I do,and the eyesight to tell the difference.
