An Unnecessary War

Unless Jimmy Carter is lying, he really made a hero out of Hamas. They actually care for West Bank though not controlling the area.

"Knowing that we would soon be seeing Hamas leaders from Gaza and also in Damascus, we promised to assess prospects for a cease-fire. From Egyptian intelligence chief Omar Suleiman, who was negotiating between the Israelis and Hamas, we learned that there was a fundamental difference between the two sides. Hamas wanted a comprehensive cease-fire in both the West Bank and Gaza, and the Israelis refused to discuss anything other than Gaza."

And he confirmed that cease-fire truce was first broken by the Israelis.

Funny this kind of news is not front-page worthy.

"The readiness of Hamas to return to the cease-fire conditionally in mid-December was confirmed by Dr. Robert Pastor, a professor at American University and senior adviser to the Carter Center, who met with Khaled Meshal, chairman of the Hamas political bureau in Damascus on Dec. 14, along with former President Jimmy Carter. Pastor told IPS that Meshal indicated Hamas was willing to go back to the cease-fire that had been in effect up to early November "if there was a sign that Israel would lift the siege on Gaza."

You said it well. A man of integrity and principles who could not be President.

Yes, I especially admired him for "Peace Not Apartheid." He took a lot of heat for that book from his (former) friends, the Israelis. I don't think he realized that they can be fair-weather friends. The minute he spoke against their policies he was accused of lying. Whatever you think of President Carter, I don't believe being a liar would apply to him. He is a man of integrity and his word.

Is true, even do, he is my homeboy and I respect dearly his motivation as a humanitarian person, those days we need it someone with bolas.

I'm just giving credit were he deserves it, At least he was good as a peace keeper not a warrior.

What would you expect from a peanut man, that let the Iranians revolutionary army puppeteer the capture of US embassy and its personnel.

All US Embassy personnel were release when Ronald Reagan was sworn as the President of the United States the same day. Not only that he is the responsible for signing the Torrijos- Carter Panama Canal treaties after numerous intimidations from a dictator.

In my opinion the only good thing that came out of him was the signing of a peace treaty during the Camp David negotiations between Israel-Egypt and Jordan.

Now the canal belongs to the F%cking Chinese.
