If what you say is true (Annc) then explain the Israeli's need to kill so many innocents. The Palestinians have lost far more people in this. The land is rightfully the Palestinians, not the Israeli's. They have every right to be angry about being kicked out of their homes and left to live in ghetto's where the Israeli's continuously bomb and kill their civilians.
Regardless, there are far too many deaths on both sides, but the Palestinians have to stand up for themselves some way.
Scarlett - totally agree. I marched down the Corniche and it did make me feel a sense of solidarity and as if the upset most of us people are feeling over what is happening, was being recognised.
ANNC - Hamas are trying to ensure that the palestinian people are not wiped out with the continous and unrelenting building of more and more settlements on stolen land by the Israeli's.
If you were truly going to look at both sides, you'd do a bit of research into a) who broke the ceasefire first ( back on 4th Nov - killing six palestinians - surprise suprised... it was Israel), b) who continued the blockade throughout the ceasefire meaning palestinians didn't have access to much food, medicine etc, and then ask your question about 'does anyone see Israels side'...
does anyone see their side? the blood of all those poor people of Gaza is on the head of Hamas- NOT Israel
just what do all these righteous people think Israel should do, when their neighbors call for their destruction, state that all Jews should be killed, when Hamas send rockets into their towns on a daily basis. Yes, perhaps over reacting- but they put up with a lot for a long time. Hamas is to blame, and must accept responsibility for this disaster

using the excuse as not too many people are logging in. Please forward this email, so as many people will log in and the IDF will be able to have its voice heard.

People in Gaza don't want any marched, they want real help.
this should not be a one-time event. we have to keep voicing out and showing our support for the Gaza people for as long as the killing of civilians is ongoing.
hope the organizer of this march would keep going, make more media exposure. it is a big deal. it does make a difference.

it blocked all entrance and allowed only one exit to and from our place. Of course, we don't understand what they are shouting, but knowing it for Gazans, we could just imagine what!

I am so proud to live here, there are many places where such a demonstration would not have been allowed. So good to see, as Scarlett said, people prepared to actually do something. I hope it helps this situation and also makes Qatar stand out as a state that allows people to have their say.

its always interesting to see just WHO shows up for rallys like this one. THOSE are the people who care enough to do something and if you are working to gather up supporters, those are the ones who will be active.
muhammed Basheer...thank you for the thread and for the additional photos...keep up the good work!
Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked, the good fortune to run into the ones I do,and the eyesight to tell the difference.
very good points
I've attended many a peaceful protest and march and yes, they DO work. It forms a sense of solidarity and actually can build sentiment so that some take more action where it is needed, say to approach governments to ACT...

sorry if someone read the original post I put here..forgot the "NOT" in the sentence..oops...

Yes this is the spirit well done Qatar .
Stupid Tallg now what you think.
Yes only thing the forget to advise the public properly. Both for the ones who wanted to attend and for those motorist who should avoid the area and use alternative route..

it was a very good day.
Marching can make a difference.. I have marhed against Apartheid in South Africa and nukes at Greenham Common. It all depends where it is. At least it shows other people that someone is concerned and that voices can make a difference.
Shame, I wish I would have known about it before hand. Congrats to all those who came out and showed their support.
yup lots of qataris there spcially those who blocks and gave way the ppl who attended the rally..........
genesis: are you blind? I counted 4 Qataris visible in the "front row" of that photo.
It was grate to have all of those ppl there trying to say some thing hopping that some one will listen.
For whom ever asked where are the QATARIS …if u were there u will see QATARI men and women even children …expatriates also Arab and westerns were there ..not having coffee but trying to shout as much as they can may be some ONE will listen to our voice
To my Brothers and Sisters in GAZA GOD BE WITH YOU

Scarlett, I have just never been one to see the point in marching as a form of protest...
I fail to see what it achieves compared to other "peaceful" methods.
In fact I got caught in one last Saturday in France... It was sort of comical though... All they achieved was pissing people off who had come to the centre for other reasons...

And at the end they go get a coffee or go home and what was achieved...?
I always thought these types of things were soley for the people doing the marching... to make themselves feel better...
