Termination without notice
Qlerrs I need advise regarding one of my friend’s wife. She signed an offer letter last June 5, 2008 and started with her job on the same day. After nine days, the manager talk to her only to know that she’s already terminated because she’s not capable of doing her job. She was advised not to report the next day without any reports/documents stating her incapability. Here are my questions:
1. Is the offer letter considered to be a contract?
2. In the offer letter, it is stipulated that the probation period will be 3 months. Is it sufficient enough to dismiss an individual and judge the worker only after nine days of training for a job? Is it legal?
3. Is it legal to terminate a worker on the same day effectively without giving a warning letter?
4. Is it legal to terminate an employee
5. If you think she has the right to lodge a complain, where and how?

hust look for another job or go back home... don;t try to fight here for rights..
one month notice will come in to effect after the probation perios ends and you have been notified that you are a perment employee of the company.
usually its one month notice from either parties. In exceptional cases the employer has the right to give immediate termination.
check the new labor law as well..but the procedures should be as per the contract only.

check the contract if the contract stipulates that in case of termination, a party should give prior notice otherwise the termination is legal even that sudden.
in my case, my contract with my employer states that i am subject for 3 month probationary period. also there's a stipulation there that termination of the contract by employer will be made at anytime and employees termination will be done after the probation period.
in my fifth month, I met a friend (waiter) that seek help from me because he was dismissed by his manager. He was advised that not to report the next day. What we did, we wrote a complaint letter to the labour (in arabic) department. when filing a complaint, just avoid certain person. PM me for more details.

contract says 3 months probation. Any time they can terminate you during that period. No question about that.
