CAPE TOWN: China is built on lies and its officials are hypocrites, the Dalai Lama said on Saturday, speaking via videophone after visa problems prevented him from joining Archbishop Desmond Tutu's birthday celebrations in South Africa. "In reality, for the communist totalitarian system... hypocrisy (and) telling lies has unfortunately become part of their lives." He said the Chinese government was "uncomfortable" with people who tell the truth, adding that honest people live longer

BEIJING: Two Tibetan men set themselves on fire in southwest China in the latest self-immolation protest against the Chinese government, state media and a rights group reported on Saturday.Kirti monastery has seen recurring unrest against Chinese rule for the last three years. In March, Rigzin Phuntsog, a 21-year-old Kirti monk, died after setting himself on fire. Phuntsog's death was seen as a protest against China's heavy-handed controls on Tibetan BuddhismKirti monastery is under tight guard by security forces who have been accused by overseas pro-Tibetan groups of beating onlookers and detaining monks. The area is off-limits to foreign journalists. In June, China rejected pressure from a UN human rights panel to provide information about more than 300 monks from Kirti whose whereabouts it said have been unknown since the monastery was raided in April.

..as for  India the less said the better... it did not even know whether to vote or not. must have been waiting for the winds of change to take care of things.  The UN itself is a big joke. Just imagine countries like china being in the security council. They dont even allow their people the basic freedoms and here we have them sitting in judgement for the rest of the  world

Russia & China are far more sensible in these matters and are known to take the right decisions. But in my opinion India and Japan should also have a permanent seat in the SC and have a greater influence in these decisions. The world would be a safer place if the US hegemony over the UN ends!

The US and its imperialist allies the UK and France have no business in Syria.  What happening their no one knows.  We only have the propaganda from the protesters.  Besides in a war with Syria US would lose.

you let one party just rule it, there will be world peace? There are two parties here, those who support aggression against a sovereign country and those who support internal conflict be solved internally.Just a year ago, Libya is perceived to be peaceful with the "tyrant" already in the mainstream of world society then all of a sudden, because some revolution on its neighbors, everything changed.  You think it's for the better?  How many daily lives were affected, you think only the Libyans? All tha is happening on countries with conflicts are self-interest and the outside world are also flaming that interest, for what? THEIR OWN interestNow, it just depends on what side you're on?

China and Russia were not helping the Syrian people but the Syrian tyrant to stay in power for a while longer.  They were the same countries supporting Libya too.  Countries like China and Russia are ruled by despots themselves and China specially goes about killing and murdering its own people. In Russia  the president and the PM play  musical chairs and cling on to power like their brother tyrant in Syria.
