Racism alive and well

I’m absolutely disgusted at the recent law or whatever it is that is banning labourers coming from countries like India, Sri Lanka and Nepal from going in to malls, the souqs and the corniche. My fiancé and I were walking through the Souqs the other night and they would allow us in but they wouldn’t allow other people in who are of a certain colour. What makes us any better than them? I don’t understand it.

Who does this government think they are? To have people who work 6 days a week and who live in horrid conditions only for 500 riyal a month and then to deny them access to public places on their one day off is an absolute disgrace.

I’m sick and tired of certain races here thinking they are above everyone else. We are all equal, and to deny people access to public places on their one day off is in my opinion skipping back a few centuries. I think the “upper class” here should stop living inside their little bubble and really do something about the atrocities that are occurring in our own back yard.

I hope whoever is authorizing this ridiculous law has a hard time sleeping at night.

I was once denied access to the Corniche i cant guess the reason, i tried to question the person (white dressed arabic guy) but he simply shouted on me...Allah knows best.

Poverty is not for the sake of hardship. No, it is there because nothing exists but God. Poverty unlocks the door -- what a blessed key!
