Qatar Police and prisons
I'm not sure if this is the right forums thread to put this in but i figured it was a start.
I'm a Muslim student at the University of Northern Colorado, I am trying to write a paper comparing country's justice systems, specifically police recruitment and prison/jail crowding and conditions, I have been trying to find sources I can site for Qatar but am having difficulties, I was hoping maybe someone on here would know some sites that i could gleam some info from. It doesn't really mater what the information is so long as i can quote it and its about police recruitment or prisons.
Qatar has always been a country of interest for me and I would love to visit there some day and I hope there is enough information so I can write this paper on it.
Thanks for your help.
You will need to learn to punctuate and spell.
As Brit says I doubt you can find academic sources although you could try the Amnesty International website.
Most of the official information is in Arabic!
Study the "Court Roundups" in the Gulf Times and see how funny the justice system is. Then write a report about it.
Unlike in any other countries, I think you will find it difficult to have a source in any Govt agencies which would have been a good one. Either they will not divulge any info or you may be mistaken as an extremist of that sort.
I suggest you go to either Govt Universities like the Qatar University, maybe their Psychology/Sociology have something to say on this matter, or try the Gulf Times, Al Jazeera TV, their reporters must have a good deal on Qatar's POlice & Penitentiary System.
Goodluck
If you're writing a paper then you need "reliable sources" not heresay , which is what you'll get from QL.
I would suggest choosing another region to focus on.
Good Luck!
I doubt if you will find any official stats and any other info you might find would be anecdotal.
