Pakistan Cricket Shamed !
A day of shame for cricket .. We have all heard of match fixing and betting, but this takes things to a new level.. R.I.P Pakistan Cricket !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The News of the World has released undercover footage
A man has been arrested in connection with an alleged cricket betting scam centred on the current Test between Pakistan and England at Lord's.
The News of the World claims it gave £150,000 to a middleman who gave information about three pre-arranged "no balls" during the match.
Scotland Yard said a 35-year-old man is being held on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud bookmakers.
Pakistan manager Yawar Saeed told the Associated Press team members had spoken to police at their hotel and were "helping them with their inquiries".
He later said he was shocked by the allegations, as were the team members to whom he had spoken.
The News of the World alleges that Pakistani players were secretly paid to deliberately bowl "no-balls" during the Test.
A "no ball" occurs when a bowler oversteps the line behind which balls should be delivered.
The newspaper claims it was given pre-warning of three separate incidents by the Pakistan team.
It said members of its reporting team posed as Far Eastern businessmen and paid a middleman who told them exactly what would happen in the next day's play.
The allegations relate to three "no balls" delivered by Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif on Thursday and Friday.
The BBC's Andy Swiss said the allegations involved "very minor, very small details within the match that might seem ridiculously trivial to a lot of people".
Our correspondent added: "That sort of information is worth a huge amount of money in the betting world where you can put bets on the tiniest details within a cricket game".
And he suggested the allegations could affect the sport's reputation.
"Cricket prides itself on the integrity of its reputation for fair play.
"This is a difficult situation for cricket and there are going to be some uncomfortable questions for the Pakistan team when the match resumes," he said.

Those shameless Paki match fixers should bounce on a cricket bat handle. How much shameless they can be, people are dieing because of their shameless act. When are they going to commit suicide? Every nation should reject playing with them
this time is,,,really very bad for PAKISTAN team...but INSHALLAH,,,soon...they will be bounce back,,and they will win the upcoming future series...!!
A sad side effect of the scandal story :O(
Gun suicide of football club chairman at centre of Pakistan cricket match-fixing scandal:
"Mr Le Cluse was said to be devastated by claims that money may have been laundered through his club, Croydon Athletic FC. He also allegedly lost a lot of money because of the scandal.
He started working for the Ryman League club last November after being appointed by its co-owner Mazhar Majeed, who is currently under investigation for his supposed involvement with a match-fixing syndicate based in Pakistan.......it is thought he lost at least £50,000 tied up in deals with Majeed that fell through because of the scandal. Guys, dont take this as personal, I just need informtion as I got.
I heard, because of indian bookies and indian terrorism in kashmir, Common wealth games will be now common Shame games ? is it true ?
its happening in England because there is an International series taking place, bookies take bets from all events all over the world, just happens the biggest cricket bookies are in India, so what!!...do you actually grasp what SPOT fixing is? The result of the match is not fixed just certain things which happen in certain overs like will a no ball be bowled, how many runs will be scored etc etc
yes Elics, whatver happens across the border , India is responsible. get a life
Right, this is all news and my concern is why its all happening in England ??? Center of bookies is in Mumbai - india, why in England ? funny......
I heard Pakistanis Win, they fix, Pakistanis lose, they fix but English Players lose only on FIX??
Elics get your facts right, an English county player has been charged with spot fixing in a county game, whats this got to do with the current Eng v Paki series?
GUys let me know, How english players felt after being charged as match fixer and look like they did, the way they lose.....
Pakistan flounder against united England
England wrapped up an easy 2-0 victory in the Twenty20 series that left Pakistan desperate for a positive result in the one-dayers to lift them out of the mire
Shahid Afridi, offered no excuses after his team capped a dreadful week by collapsing to their lowest total in Twenty20 history. In front of a paltry crowd of 5,821, one of the lowest gates ever seen for an England international, Pakistan were brushed aside for 89, en route to a six-wicket defeat with a full six overs to spare.
"We were very bad, very inexperienced and immature from my side and from all the batsmen," said Afridi. "I think we played very bad cricket. I didn't want to sound negative before the game - I wanted to be positive as the captain - but we didn't play well and we're still making mistakes
Afridi was not apologising for the match fixing, but the negative publicity this has generated for Cricket and Pakistan...
I love cricket and the Pakistani team was always my fav..I even supported them against SL and India getting much flak from my family as a result! So its depressing to see so many of their players falling into the same ditch as those before them did. But other than handing out bans to those found guilty what more can the PCB do?How can they prevent this from happening time after time?Truly greed is a demon=(
Afridi apologises for spot-fixing controversy
Cricinfo staff
September 4, 2010
Pakistan's one-day captain, Shahid Afridi, has issued a public apology on behalf of the three players suspended by the ICC after allegations of spot-fixing during the fourth Test at Lord's. Speaking to the press after the visiting team's training session ahead of the first Twenty20 against England in Cardiff, Afridi also distanced himself from the events of the last week and insisted that his team were focused on the remaining games of their tour.
"I think it is very bad news," said Afridi. "On behalf of these players - I know they are not in this series - but on behalf of these boys I want to say sorry to all cricket lovers and all the cricketing nations."
Afridi also revealed that Mazhar Majeed - the man alleged to be at the centre of the spot-fixing scandal - had accompanied the team on various tours in the past. "This guy has been travelling with the guys in the West Indies and in Australia," he said. "I saw him on the tours. I didn't know anything about this
welldone pakistan..
hme4u_mk calm down with the obsenities, just because your team are bunch of dirty cheats!!!
@hme4u_mk same to you what i said to mr_qatar hahaha
London: A lot of Pakistani cricketers are "just looking for money, women and food" and very few of them have any love for the game, claims the bookie arrested for alleged 'spot-fixing' in the England-Pakistan Test.
Mazhar Majeed, the bookie who has made sensational claims of bribing Pakistani cricketers for bowling no balls in a sting operation by a British tabloid, claimed a lot of players were only bothered about money.
"You'll find there's only a few players who are genuine and who are actually here for the love of the game, and there's not many believe me. A lot of them are just looking for money, women and food," Majeed has been quoted as saying in the video tapes of the sting released by 'The News of the World'.
shut your ass..you son of a bitch..mother fucker..we will also fix a match of your mother with somone if you want???
Shame, shame, shame on them!
The last thing that Pakistan needs at the moment is a cricket team.
To bad its from Pak players
@ mr_qatar chup matchfixers
@ qatartatta what you know about the
cricket.... Where you came from?? Some people just ruined the taste & interest of others in the threads... You black sheep.. And why you hide your nationality.. Are you really from such a bad nation??? Shame on you..
as long as money involved..there will be more match fixing in the future!
and the Pakistani players are in the dressing room..
all they will be praying now for heavy downpour... and lets see how the day turns out to be..
all focused on Pakistani players and their movements...
match fixing! Gambling/speculation deals of any sort is Haram.
Each and every ball is been put on Bet and bookies make
huge money.
Indeed a shameful act and shall not be acceptable being a part of Cricket.
Oh yes i remember this famous quote about Saleem Malik
"Saleem Malik ka balla"
After the match fixing people started saying
"Saleem Malik hai dalla, Saleem Malik hai dalla"
PCB should ban the players right away, which every one knows they won't, will ban them for 3 matches and fine them, and then back to the game.
Saleem malik was also caught in a match fixing scandal and was banned from cricket international and domestic series for life....
I remember one time Ian Chapple said the only good thing England ever gave to cricket is the game of cricket itself. Nothing else
Very well said
No Flan England has just been playing better irrespect of this scandal. Aussies watchout here we come?
It's no more a GENTLEMAN's game....
see the link
http://www.newsoftheworl...n-the-Aussie-match.html
They have fixed several matches in the past as well.
This guy drives Aston Martin & owns a 1.8 million pound mansion in England from his cheat booty.
hang them all... :0
Pakistan Cricket Team!!!
Match fixers! Match fixers! Match fixers! lool
Thats what i call supporting this post
elics, i said above that i am an avid lover of CRICKET..so it means that i too watch cricket without having any hard feelings for any nation or players playing at the time of the match....right?????
So kindly don't call yourself as neutral only..Loving a game has nothing to do with religion or tensions among two nations..I have few fav.pakistani players FYI..
And you Brite, respect your nation and shut up for all who support this post.
I am not representing anyone aorund, I am a neutral cricket and baseball lover and player. I will send you the links but you can all review in youtube indian media. I guess these 2 nations never missed chances to screw each other.
elics, could you please take me back in the past where INDIANS used any campaign for PAKISTANI PLAYERS??
Since i am an avid lover of cricket, i don't think something as cheap as would have ever happened...
angels??? hahhaa..Big JOKE of the day...
Ok, carry on with your praises for PCB and its players...
I totally agree with ELICS, the whole world is full of liars, scammers, conspiracy makers etc etc. Only pakistanis & pakistani cricket team are angels from above.
I guess its same bloody Campaign as in past held against Pakistanis when coach died and whole world blammed Pakistani and at the end , they got nothing against Pakistanis except some indian ashmammed of running a paid Campaign.
I agree with my fellow Tatta, Pakistanis should play indian gilli danda, although its a bit different in india, as indian sit on danda and then play.
Note: ......
This stupid terrorist cricket team should be banned from ever playing again. They should play that retarded gilli danda & then later sit on that danda to save themselves from flood
they are not being paid for loosing the game..
as per the news they are being paid for putting 'No Balls' at certain time of the game..
seems that bookies bet for each ball of the game..
was that sri lankan fellow also paid to bowl a no ball and stop Sehwag from making his century???
@ alfa win & loss is apart of every game.. Once india lost against bangladesh so it dosent mean that indian palyers also involved that time in match fixing (or may be you are rite) but again the question is why this (mazher majeed) vomit infront of media? & how media know first then police? Is UK media us much faster then uk police?? And which stupid will pay such a huge amount for just 3 no balls..
LOL WK
Who is the idiot who is paying them money to lose.. They are gonna do that anyway, no?
They have been doing all along. I can't forget losing match to Bangladesh in which all these guys must have betted large sums in UK legally & made millions.
But big question is why during holy month of Ramadan?
Why titanic... Then they will enjoy there trip.. Lolxx
Why titanic... Then they will enjoy there trip.. Lolxx
Build TiTanIc!! and sinK all the Match Fixers, bookies and tainted players of all nations in the artic ocean (marinated):)
Yup no matter that its a bad & shamefull news but we still have to wait for the evidence & proof.. Coz no one is guilty without proof..
But my question is that what the media person is doing between them? Is he also apart of the deal? Or he knows that where they will meet for the deal?? Or its just a pre-plan by england cricket board + media + that two brothers..
£150,000 just for three no ballss... Cant believe this..
i think we all are reacting very early i m 100% agree with Aesh it is not proved so far so we should wait before react something ....BTW the match fixing is very widespread ...many of countries team are doing but the thing this is not right ....So Wait and Watch
we all have our bad days... at least pak hockey is not so bad after all eh? ;-)
dont say shit it is not proved yet so chill
and yet another nail in the coffin....
Pakistan Cricket Team at another low....:(
flan, it seems so...I think PCB isn't rich enough like BCCI where almost all INDIAN players earns more than 20k, exclusive of other match fees that they play...:))
so that's why they've been playing so badly.
jack exactly...Even my husband used to tell the same thing..I have always been a die hard fan of CRICKET..But the day he told that we were really FOOL to waste our 6hrs timing before leaving aside all the works,i got a big blow of my life...The matches were already fixed before the start of the game...
they have a lot to sort out within themselves. They need a ruler to gain the country its reputation back and that better happen b4 its too late.
Best of Luck.
One of my friends who worked for the police...who was involved in investigation of Match Fixing around the time involving claims against Azar and Kapil... said that this is true and we are idiots to get up early in the morning as early as 3am and later on to bunk our work/college to watch the matches...the results are fixed.
Another guy who worked in BSE - Bombay Stock Exchange used to give us the results before hand...that too around the same period...
Huff!! it seems that pakistani players haven't learnt anything from their past mistake....
That was the last thing that we wanted at this stage. Cricket was probably the only field left for us to represent ourselves positively to the rest of the world.
It harms Pakistan's image and also the game of cricket itself. :O(
Read about it on the newsoftheworld.co.uk a couple of hours back.....its really shameful. Yet another blow to the Pakistani Nation.
