Mahatma Gandhi scandale
A state in western India banned Pulitzer-Prize winning author Joseph Lelyveld's new book about Mahatma Gandhi on Wednesday after reviews saying it hints that the father of India's independence had a homosexual relationship.
More bans have been proposed in India, where homosexuality was illegal until 2009 and still carries social stigma.

i hope the author has a proof.
Well the best thing about India is you can say what you want, publish what you want and get away with it. Lets be frank instead of being hypocrites and be willing to admit that the guy had his weak moments just as everybody does

Discussed ;o)
There are thousands of books written on Mahatma Gandhi. This author has to write something different otherwise who will read his book. There is no need to ban this book. Author is too desperate.
Must look at the evidence, facts, and findings that the author used to prove and back his claim. either he's right and the truth must be told, or he's faking it for self publicity and must be sued.
anyway, what's the big deal? it's Ghandy's private life. he will always be one of the greatest. does tchaikovsky being homo make his music less great?
ur father...knows best...
WHAAAT?
and who was the lucky one ?
I think Gandhijis sexual inclination or relationship should be of no concern to us.
What is important is his contribution to the nation. His beliefs on social equality and many other doctrines contributed greatly to the post colonial evolution of our country.
This will surely spark anger all over India once the book is ever released.ALLAH SWT knows best what's the truth.
Its not banned because it talks of homosexuality.
