Leaders can make or break a nation..

Just been reading an interesting article about Ahmadinejad's recent comments.

The question is - Why keep on provoking Israel and the US with stupid statements?
It got me thinking about how Leaders can make or break nations. Look at Gorbachev and the Soviet Union.

So, is Ahmadinejad deliberately trying to get Iran attacked ???

Americans weren't in the Gulf you'd all be speaking Iranian, not that that is bad, but its the truth.

You are again asking question and proving this correct...."And I know asking question is too easy, while fact checking requires some real and unbiased research and self questioning."

Btw you still have not mentioned which action you are referring to. If you meant provocative/threatening comments then you should also point the provocation/threat from US and Israel. For which any self respect government/people bound to react to.

How can you forget his action/reaction is in response to the daily threat from US/Israel.

There is no comparison of gorbechev and Ahmedinejad. The situation and dynamics are different. Iranians are not fragmented people. They will unite whenever there is any attack.

GodFather.

Maybe.. He want to legitimise his nuclear weapons (which Iran may have already) by these provocations?

Two different questions..

Firstly, I doubt whether Obama is a stooge of people who want to destroy America. He may still be influenced by neocons, but to me he is not a stooge.

Secondly, YES it is possible that Obama will finish what Bush could not.

My post was not about the USA, but Ahmadinejad and his actions.

I also mentioned Gorbachev. He came to power as leader of the second most powerful nation and left after dismantling it..

Is Ahmadinejad doing the same ?

Britexpat.......You did not mention which comment you were refering to and still don't. Whatever your point was and whatever I missed but I tried to point you the truth about the comments(grave digging) from multiple sources. Instead of checking the fact for your own knowledge and for this forum, you are asking another question while ditching the question I posed in my previous posting. That shows how strongly your mind and believe is controlled by the so called free and fair media. And I know asking question is too easy, while fact checking requires some real and unbiased research and self questioning.

Let me ask you another conspiracy theory: Is it possible that OBAMA is stooge of people who wants to destroy america? As some right wingers in US claim.

Is it possible that what conservative/neocon/israel could not do with iran during bush reign, they will get it done during obama reign?

As far as war is concerned, I would agree completely with mmyke. The US will not risk foot soldiers on the ground. The aim is not to invade Iran, but to destroy its warmaking capability. This can easily be done with misiles, aircraft and drones.

However, you missed the point of my posting.. Let us take an extreme conspiracy theory - Is it possible that Ahmadinejad out to destroy his own country ; Is he a Western stooge ?

mmyke.........good rhetoric and propaganda. War with political correctness....like WMD LIE, killing thousands for one PERSON, who is still elusive. Btw more than 100000+ men for 50-100 taleban as per the US army general. That shows how strong the army is.

4 times the firepower than it had in 2004. Include the NATO countries with this and the strength cannot be matched.

In these last wars the west has tried to fight with political correctness and it has taken a lot of extra punishment for this. Western armies come in followed by hospitals and food for the people of these poor countries....whereas 3rd world armies conduct genocide, mass slaughter, rape and pillage.

Iran does not consider deterrance in any equation it uses.

If there is a dust-up with Iran it will not come in a form of western boots on the ground, but will be done by precision non-nucleur bombing for which there are no defences.

committed to his motherland and who puts the intrests of the nation before everything. i am a regular follower of news and i find it quite obvious that the dominating nations dont like sincere leaders to guide the muslim nations. they either install puppets or to the maximum accept armchair leaders who do nothing. it is israel and america who have been threatening iran every other day, they plant stories of how their militaries are practicing in suez, romanian mountains or flying sorties to cyprus. they prevent iran from buying defensive weapons like the s300. what do u expect Ahmedinejad to do in this scenario, keep shut and let the dogs bark.

Britexpat......How about answering this question. Why US along with israel always threatens/provokes by saying attacking iran is not off the table. And just few weeks back Mullen threatens iran. Did you ever take notice of this threat and question that WHY US always threatening. Or is it normal for you to listen from these countries since they are ally/friend, flag bearer of JUSTICE in the world, so called human rights champion, freedom loving nation blah blah.

I don't know which comment you are refering to.

So far "digging grave" news is concerned this seems to be fabricated and planted news to show iran in bad light. The person who has dug graves if true is not a govt official. While those who are threatening iran are from govt. Do you see the difference?

For example:

TimeOfIndia says "``The mass graves that used to be for burying Saddam's soldiers have now been prepared again for U.S. soldiers, and this is the reason for digging this big number of graves,'' Moghadam said, according to the semiofficial Fars news agency. "

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/world/middle-east/Iran-digging-mass-graves-for-US-troops-if-they-attack/articleshow/6287419.cms

Yahoo news says:

"The mass graves that used to be for burying Saddam's soldiers have now been prepared again for U.S. soldiers, and this is the reason for digging this big number of graves," Moghadam told The Associated Press Television News late Monday. He did not say how many were prepared.

Then yahoo correct itself at the end of news:

(This version corrects that Moghadam is a former Guard commander, not a current one, and spoke to APTN, instead of Fars.)

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100810/ap_on_re_mi_ea/ml_iran_us

Which version you will believe. And also I tried searching this news on the said APTN and FARS news agencies. I did not find this news on their site. If you can find this news on the sourced news agency site please post here.

When people start believing everything the media/govt says......they are worse than an illiterate. No offence please.
