Lets also assume there wont be scapegoats prosecuted for crimes of omission, leaving top dogs ever well-settled in their comfy chairs.

It was probably this stint at starfleet that allowed his quick promotion to Heir apparent instead of his uncle :)

No, this is not a visual trick of some sort. This is King Abdullah of Jordan dressed in the famous Star Trek uniform !! Egyptian Blogger, Wael Abbas, posted this video from the popular American show Star Trek-Voyager (episode 35: Investigations - 1995 to be exact) . It shows King Abdullah, probably not king by then, playing a silent role as one of the crew members. Impressive !! King Abdullah, a member in an American serial.

I wish many other Arab leaders would follow suit, I'm sure they already know how much the layman suffers, but this kind of unscheduled visits are very much appreciated, if they're looking for a "reality show" instead of decorated filmed events. No need for disguise, just make the move without sirens and procession.

What a great thing for him to do. Far better than trying to ask his advisors to make reports about public services which don't reflect the reality. There was a programme also a few years ago broadcast on Showtime when he drove around Jordan on a motorbike and a camera crew filmed him making basically a tourist 'documentary' on the country.

The Emir of Qatar apparently does the same. He drives around in his car by himself and if he sees something he calls up the minister and tells him to fix it.

A colleague of mine said she was sitting at Burger King roundabout and was having a screaming match on the phone. She looked to the car to her left and there was a 'very familiar looking man' watching her and grinning at how demonstrative she was obviously being on the phone. it took her a few seconds to recognise who he was.

He didn't get her a ticket for being on her phone either..
