How you recruit a terrorist

now this isn't a serious topic, i just found it from an Egyptian man's blog. at least it has some humor in it. Realsomeone

A U.S. airstrike this morning targeting a “known al-Qaeda terrorist” in Somalia destroys two houses, approximately the size of my bedroom, killing 3 women, 3 children and no terrorists. Yes in Somalia, which I believe has to its credit, one working escalator and 3 color T.V.’s

Picture this, you’re a poor Somalian man living in a house no more glamorous than a sand castle, you have no job besides what you can invent from your imagination and you live in one of the poorest countries on earth. Your country lacks infrastructure and the most basic human resources, you have nothing in terms of wealth and your countries number one export is dust. If your country fell into the ocean tomorrow it would barely make the front page of any newspaper including the Mogadishu Tribune. Then suddenly, one Monday morning you’re going through your usual daily routines (trying to find something on the ground that no one wants that might be edible if boiled) and suddenly BOOM! Your sand castle of a house has been blown off the face of the earth and with it, your wife, kids and members of your extended family. Was it an act of God, a natural disaster, civil war, leaking gas? Yea right you don’t even have gas pipes. No, instead you and your sand castle have been targeted by the only remaining super power on earth, essentially by the leader of the free world. You’re not sure whether to be upset or honored.

You have nothing left, which is what you thought you had before this catastrophe occurred, you’ve been forced to exchange your few blessings in life for torment that will agonize you till your last breath. What do you do now? Go to Iraq and fight those who have taken everything from you….obviously. You have nothing left to live for except revenge and you’ll happily give your life just attempting to even the score even though you cant no matter what you do.

And thats how you recruit a terrorist.

Very nice post :)

I agree that majority always gets resposablized by the acts of a minority.

I think Islam is a beautifull religion like most religions but i think it's time for my muslim brothers to take a stand to control those terrorists and split politics from religion, we all have our faiths and we shouldn't allow it to blind us from the life in sociaty.

i agrre brit expat, but at the core of the problem lies the faculty of muslim society to ''reinvent or rewrite'' islam in regard to modern world where we live.

Terrorism has sa main target arabic government, not western, the main victims of terrorism are muslim not westerners, so whatever happen will off course impact on the west, but we can only watch the colossal fight taking place from morocco to indonesia between hardiners and progressist and hope for the best

Don't wait for the last judgment it takes place every day.

Yes, the Muslims have to put their houses in order. Its not straight forward though because there are numerous forces at play here..

very good post, but the real fight against terrorism (meaning islamist terrorism) will be won or lost by muslim societies first, not by the west...

Well said.. This is the case on both sides.. It's such a pity that the "majority" have lost the ability or the enthusiasm to have their voices heard!

The WHOLE West didn't translate it into that Realsomeone, just some. Unfortunately, as is always the case, the minority is so vocal it often appears as the majority.

that's a nice one, but I don't think it happens often enough to explain the whole number of "terrorists".

i agree, though i think the west misunderstood minority with majority.

because those who take that attacks where few people but the west translated it as all Muslims as violent and killing hungry as a result what this guy is talking about happened that innocent Muslims were caught under fire and still are.

thanks gypsy

The ravages of war..

I agree that killing innocents will turn you against the perpertrator..

This is exactly why the West turned against Muslims in large numbers after 9/11 and lately 7/7.
