GOSSIP : Nobody's Friend

realsomeone
By realsomeone

My name is Gossip. I have no respect for justice
I maim without killing. I break hearts and ruin lives.
I am cunning and malicious and gather strength with age.
The more I am quoted the more I am believed.

My victims are helpless.
They cannot protect themselves against me because I have no name and no face.
To trap me down is impossible.
The harder you try, the more elusive I become.

I am nobody’s friend.
Once I tarnish a reputation, it is never the same.
I topple governments and wreck marriages.
I ruin careers and cause sleepless nights, heartaches and indigestion.

I make innocent people cry in their pillows.
Even my name hisses. I am called Gossip.
I make headlines and headaches.
Before you repeat a story, ask yourself:

Is it true? Is it harmless? Is it necessary?

AT LEAST IN DOHA I HAVE SEEN MEN IS MUCH INTERESTED TO TELL GOSSIP THAN WOMEN. ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO COMES FROM VILLAGE. THAT TOO WITHOUT ANY TRUTH OR WHATEVER MAY BE THEY ARE OBSERVING WHAT OTHERS ARE WEARING, WHERE OTHERS ARE GOING TO WHOM THEY ARE TALKING ETC. ETC.

IT IS A VERY BAD PRACTICE ESPECIALLY SOME INDIAN MALABARIS.

THEY THINK ALL LADIES ARE LIKE THEIR WIVES OR DAUGHTERS. I HAVE SEEN ONE PRIEST ( HE SAYS SO) AROUND 64 YEARS OLD TALKING UTTER NONSENSE ALL THE TIME IF ANY NEW PERSONS JOINS IN HIS COMPANY BECAUSE SOME LADIES DO NOT SPEAK WITH HIM BECAUSE OF THIS HE WILL PROPAGATE FALSE NEWS. HE GOT DAUGHERS AND GRANDAUGHTERS. ALWAYS HOLDING A BIBLE IN HIS HAND.

I DO NOT KNOW HOW HE CAN SAY THAT HE IS A PRIEST. MORE THAN THAT HE IS TRYING TO MAKE PROBLEM IN BETWEEN HUSBAND AND WIFE. THIS IS WHAT SOME PEOPLE'S JOB. THEY KNOW ONLY ONE RELATION IN BETWEEN MEN AND WOMEN THAT IS LOVE PYAR, ETC. BEYHOND THAT THEY CAN'T IMAINGE ANY OTHER RELATION. THESE SO CALLED WILL TALKS ONLY WITH LADIES THROUGH PHONE OR HIDING BEHIND THE DOORS OR STAIRCASE ETC. INFRONT OF THE PUBLIC THEY ARE HARICHANDRA

Here is what prophet had to say about gossip.

The Prophet Muhammad once asked his Companions, "Do you know what is backbiting?" His Companions said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "Backbiting implies your talking about your brother in a manner that he does not like." It was said to him, "What is your opinion about this if I actually find that shortcoming in my brother?" He said, "If what you assert (of a shortcoming) is actually in him, you have backbitten him; if it is not, you have slandered him" (Muslim).

and here is what the Quran says about Gossip.

*{O you who believe, avoid much suspicion, for some suspicion is a sin. Neither spy on one another, nor backbite one another. Would one of you love to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Nay, you would detest it, [so similarly, avoid backbiting]. And fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.}* (Al-Hujurat 49:12)

labda Of course. They would prefer to call it "comment" Are men guilty of gossiping as well ? yeah, Pretending that none of us gossip is a farce. We all do it. Same thing with lying. Men lie more, while women tell the bigger lies.Women gossip more, but men are not lagging too far behind.

labda Traditionally, women get a lot of criticism for gossiping. By gossip, we mean to start a rumor, talk of a personal, sensational, or intimate nature, or to engage in or communicate idle, indiscreet talk
