Don't gimme that who came first chicken or egg crap. Pakis were never Europeans, their descendants will never be Europeans whether they plague Norway, Britain, or Latvia. They'll always be one thing i.e Pakis.the same goes for Chinese, Thai, and other ASIANS etc

Btw, from Eden hahahahahhaha ROFL lol. Now, imagine buncha Catholic Irish moving to Pakistan or whatever and they build churches, call them selves Pakistani, live there and you knw what. Will they or their descendants ever be Pakistani? Will Pakistani people ever accept them as genuine Pakistanis? The answer is a BIG HELL NO and you know it. Thought so...........

And prey tell, why is the UK not a melting pot?

Or all of Europe for that matter? How is America any different than Europe? Have you ever even been to Europe dude?

I find it highly amusing that you have these 'rules' that you believe are to be applied to people of different races.

But... I will bite and inform you that Europeans are really immigrants too as we all originate from the prophet Adam and therefore immigrants are from the garden of Eden....

I am an American and an Independent. I voted for Obama and am still very proud that the majority of voters (of all ages, races and creeds) worked diligently to get Obama elected. I never thought that I would have witnessed this in my life time...I am overhelmed with pride and joy.

Let us not forget those that have "paved the way" to make this a reality...including George W.Bush. He is the president that assigned many minorities to important positions during his time in office: Rice, Powell, Gonzalez (who had to "step down" from his office) Regardless, the wheels have been in motion and the momentum could not be stopped...Hooray for the red, white and blue.

Well Mr. a merry Muslim..The case of America is totally different than that of UK. America is a melting pot. A white is not the only American. White, Black, Brown, Native, Hispanic, Yellow, Martian, etc etc are all Americans. Americans are bunch a immigrants (descendants) from Europe, Africa, China, Mid East etc.

UK is a European Nation; not a nation of non-European immigrants and neither it is supposed to be.

with all due respect..

I have lived and worked in the USA.. I have also worked on a US naval base with 2000 Americans of all race, creed and colour..I have many American friends..

The mark of a developed nation is the ability of its peoples to be able to criticize, question its leadership and bring about change.

The Americans have finally woken up and brought about that change.

As far as your comment about a perfect country.. There is no such place..

Scarlett... I aint just passing judgment I've lived in the US. So I have seen, felt, and even experienced racism first hand. And I don't even want to begin telling you about experiences my non-white friends had when they lived in Tennessee.

just don't appreciate some of the comments that seem to come slam one right after the other...

And my take on why Bush was elected twice is that the Rebuplicans garnered up a lot of the religious right voters. Democrats had the problem of not having a strong representative...so it was a choice of a rock and a hard place. I voted against Bush in that election. Democrats have always had a backbone...however now its that they have to deal with 2 Houses that are overloaded with Republicans. Thank you so much, Mr Bush! Its going to be an uphill battle for anything that Obama wants to accomplish.

I just findit really amusing that people from other nations think they know more about the whats and whys of what happens in America, so take pot shots all the time. Must be nice to be from a perfect country that has a perfect ruling government.

Your vote, your choice. You cannot just hate what you choose...but you cannot also blame the choices your president did.

They choose Dubya because they already had a democrat for 8 years too. It's just an 8-year-democrat 8-year republican alternative these days.

Media played a big role in 'brainwashing' the people around the world.

I think you fell out of the wrong side of the bed this morning.. IMHO, Bush should never have been re-elected..However, the democrats at that time were too busy trying to be nice and did not stand up to him.. the public also got dragged along in the Patriotic euphoria after 9/11.. Finally, this time, the public stood up and the democrats developed a backbone..

Is that far from your perception of the events ??

I beg to disagree with you on America being a racist country...I see more racism here and in Europe than I have ever seen back home. Until you live in a country, don't pass judgement. Racism will always be in existance, yes, but with education and time it will reduce itself. That's very evident in America with the blacks and whites. Its only been a bit over 50 years that the civil rights riots were rampant but it awakened a new respect for other races and now look where our country has grown...we have a President that was voted in by a majority and he's black. I, for one, don't care if he is purple...as long as he's of a good heart and cares for his people and their welfare...he belongs in the White House.

Well, America is still a racist country and forever will be one. Racism never dies away. It's inherent in human nature. Youz poor and I is rich. Youz yellow and I is white. Racism is how we relate to each other. America's democracy isn't perfect either. But anywho, barack is the shizzle.

obama's victory brought hope to a lot of people, not just americans either... whether or not his promises will bear fruit remains to be seen. It also brought a certain degree of unity amongst races (for some freakin' reason it's still an issue for some people) so I guess whatever happens from hereon out, we have reason to celebrate.

He sure has many problems to deal with the hardest job in the world. This leads the way for other than White Chritian Men to be the US President, its sooooooooooooooooooooo historical. Given Obamas background of being mixed racially he can see both sides better than most. God Knows America and the world need help.

This a historic day in the whole world. A black man is the leader of the greatest nation the world has ever seen. I am so glad he will be my president. I wish Bush would leave office today. I can’t wait. I am so proud of McCain, the way he admited his defeat. I truly am. This is what democracy is about. May God bless McCain and I thank him for serving our nation the way he has. He showed to be a true American fighter. The difference is that Obama has a better plan for our nation and the world.

I will never forget this day, as it became a landmark in the American history. My grandkids will be studying it in the history books to come.

May peace prevail.

Like Obama said:

"This is our moment. This is our time -- to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American Dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth -- that out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope, and where we are met with cynicism, and doubt, and those who tell us that we can't, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people: Yes We Can," Obama said.
