Barack Obama "Jerusalem will be the capital..
Barack Obama has done it to the white house, despite all challenges he faced, he won the battle of the US Elections with a clear big victory collecting 364 Electoral Votes (64,688,689 Popular Votes) against John McCain who had 162 Electoral Votes (56,950,451 Popular Votes) of the Total 538 Electoral Votes.
Now, with all the promises he made to make a real positive change in the United States and in the Whole World, and with all the power he has now as a US president impacting the policy of the whole world, I really hope that he would be able to make some positive changes, fixing all mistakes done previously, or at least not making new ones!
In that aspect, I recall his debatable speech that caused a real controversy, about the Middle East issues, especially the Israel-Palestine big issue, when he had couple of sharp words said then rolled back in some interview at the ABC News as written and seen below:

He also might as well lobby the Italian-Americans.

I'm rather hoping that this very important issue finally gets some sound judgement, and change is on the horizon. I doubt it - simply because the lobbies are who really run the country, so change won't really be afoot - and sadly the palestinians will still be suffering at the end of Obama's term in office... perhaps i'm being cynical.. i hope things improve - i'm just not convinced.. yet!
Britexpat, agreed, his first pick, Emanuel as Chief-of-Staff sent that message. But Emanuel is one helluva guy!

Obama has to keep the Jewish lobby on his side, so he has to say the right things..All presidents have to..
Obama: "I continue to say that Jerusalem will be the capital of Israel, I have said that before and I will say it again! and I also have said that it is important that we don't simply slice the city in half, but I've also said thats a final status issue, thats an issue that has to be dealt with the parties involved the Palestinians and the Israelis and it's not the job of the United States to dictate the form in which that will take but rather to support the efforts that will be made to resolve this right difficult issue with its long history!"
“Be fearful when others are greedy, and be greedy when others are fearful,”
He admitted that it was a mistake. I have observed that most leaders in his situation remain non committal about such sensitive issues. And thats the right idea too, when there is no apparent solution to the problem one should not speak out what he feels.
