the best comment on freedom is that of James Connelly, Soottish born Irish socialist, revelutionary before 1916.

He said what differnce does it make if the vehicle carrying the police to evict someone has a crown (British) or Harp Irish symbol on its side. Freedom in any society is expressed by someone saying I have enough of stupidity amd others saying this is unacceptable. When this happens here as is starting to happen we are our way to a truly fair and democratic societty/

Mehnis, it is not THE United States. It is the government of the United States.

There are many people in the US that would like to see alternative energy used. Sadly, the oil lobby is too strong to let that happen. So you see, just like in many other countries, a lot are at the mercy, or under the control ,of a few.

Of course, now you will say "but there is democracy! Why do the people let this happen?" Simple, there are no real choices.

as Britney says:

What's practical is logical. What the hell, who cares?

All I know is I'm so happy when you're dancing there.

I'm a slave for you. I cannot hold it; I cannot control it.

I'm a slave for you. I won't deny it; I'm not trying to hide it.

What freedom are they talking about? the day they started the oil blockade of the West in 1973 they were a goner.

That was the last of the so called freedom. Every regime in Arab world is at the mercy of the United States. They can rule, enjoy the plenty and be 'partners' with U.S. They cannot be free. The day either oil runs out or the West does not require oil Arabs will be free

Everybody wants money. Offer it to the "mob" and they will conform.

yea....normally people with self realization are categorized as mobs...and usually they are minority...and the majority is so self-absorbed in living non-visionary luxurious daily life...unaware of being leached of resources and power...as wyite knight said...they like the money...and money is so harmless....agree???

WK and lemontree, in your opinion they shouldn't seek the kind of freedom they want? The petro-dollar thing is a case of the mob versus the governments and the bigwigs. The people who seek the freedom are the mob.

Do the Arabs realise that to be totally free from the west, they need to turn their back on Petro-Dollars?
