Al-Huda deportees "treated like animals"
Last month, Nepal's newspapers reported hundreds of Nepali workers being deported from Qatar for demanding better pay from their employers. An article in two Nepali national newspapers (Kathmandu Post and Kantipur) has described the journey home for these deportees, and what happened to a young student returning from the USA who tried to make a stand against their treatment by Gulf Air. According to the student's account, after making a complaint to airport staff in Bahrain about ill-treatment of the deportees from Qatar, he was arrested by police, driven to a hospital to be tested for alcohol, judged, fined, held in detention and deported the next day to Nepal.

it is not the arabs that treat people badly. It is the Government's fault that why do they allow these things to happen. They should have a check and balance system. It would be the same anywhere if the employers are allowed to exploit people. The problem is that the Government is turning a bling eyes towards these complaints. She knows that workers are being treated badly. they are being paid barely enough to survive. It is ripe time that the Government and the people ruling should do something about it. The Government knows about the condition of labourers and also about their camps. So the question is why doesnt it ask the employers. Or maybe the employers are the Government?
One of our maids has been with us for almost 20 years now....I treat her the same way I treat my parents, with dignity and respect....we always try to be there for her whenever or if ever she needs anything because we consider her a part of her family and without her our family is incomplete. My point is, while the discrimination here exists you shouldn't generalize against all Arabs. I'm Arab but I certainly don't treat labourers, house maids, taxi drivers, office boys as "living creatures that do not fall into the Human being category"
Well as far as the religion, Islam is concerned, it commands that there should be no discrimination on the basis of race, creed or colour of Skin. There is a verse in the Holy Quraan, I cant refer to it as I dont remember it, but it says 'no man is better than the other, or no Arab is better than a Non Arab except for in TAQWAA' (Taqwaa, I think means submitting to Allah)
So its not the religion... Its the people, and the money that they have...
Someone had rightly said about the Arabs that their transition from the camel to the caddilac was very fast and the return will be faster. So thats not because GM will stop supplying Caddilacs to the Arab world but because of their attitudes.
All I can wish for is May God help them and guide them to the right path.
Labourers, house maids, taxi drivers, office boys... these are some living creatures that do not fall into the Human being category, especially in this part of the world. So such incidents are alright and do not come as a shock to most. Then comes the Nationality issue. the first question that is asked of you is which nationality are you? Once they get the answer they decide upon the decibel level of their sound and wether they should treat you like humans or animals.
by the way do u know that if you are flying Qatar Airways first class... you get treated like royalty, but did you laso know that if your maid is flying first class with your family she would not be allowed in the premium lounge. Mine was refused entry into the premium lounge. She had a valid ticket, a passport, a visa its just that she is a maid and can not be allowed to sit in the premium lounge.
So say hello to Racial discrimination... Did you also know that Arabs complain all the time about racial discrimination when they are in the west??? All I wish to tell those complaining Arabs is Ha Ha ha and Ha Ha Ha.
The incident took place in Bahrain. The wokers were in transit while flying back from Qatar on their way to Nepal.

Is that website yours or something?? because you mention it in like every post lately.
Just goes to confirm the attitude of airlines like Gulf Air have towards labour class passengers from the Sub continent. I have seen it many years before when I travelled Gulf Air once. I never flew with them after that. One thing they forget is that the sub continent routes are their real "bread and butter" routes with the volume of traffic they generate.
Shame on him who is suggesting that Qatar is becomming a cultural hub for middle east. Its even futher contributing to the shame of GCC states.
Slavery was banned in KSA c.1963.
In reference to your statement. I have to agree to it. But as you know there is a large community of other followers and religions that do practice confessions.
I don't lose sleep behind everyone sins, I just listen and recommend If requested.
It is a tough Job trying to listen to others always.
Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery
None but ourselves can free our minds..
If he had an American passport he would have been served free liquor just to get him drunk so that he can forget the plight of the Nepalis and then given a first class ticket to show the U.S. (the big daddy) how they take care of "real humans"
Muslims do not have a confession booth to confess to. When someone feels remorse they simply pray (at a Mosque or in the privacy of their own place) and talk to Allah asking and pleading for forgiveness. Most importantly, they halt sinful acts causing them guilt and shame.
Tell me, how in the world can you handle all the sins you hear every minute? do you feel depressed? or maybe appreciative of God's blessings bestowed on you?
You are a religious shrink (in a way)?? Because you have to be very well educated, religiously knowledgably, articulate and tolerant. Very tough job in my opinion.
I feel bad for the whole situation and angry at the arrogance of all those culprits, juggling with other peoples feelings and emotions.
They are always welcome to my confession booth and rendering completely submission to the guilt fees of the heart.
But, what would happen If he had an American Passport?
Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery

No one was born to be a slave for a (being) master.
Slavery come is different sets, layers and wrapping.
How many times you heard of an employer here says “tea PLEASE” ??
How many times you heard of beaten/assaulted maids and drivers?
How many times you heard of atrocities towards deportees?
Some think poor employees, brought from the 5th world!!!!! are their personal property. Slavery again…..
Can any employer here abuse a Canadian, American…….etc.?? No, why? Because only the poor, ignorant and helpless men/women are enslaved. They have no support or any kind of back up, not even by their own countries. They were not dignified in their countries to begin with.
Salvery is in the genes I suppose
No offence meant
Knoxcollege,
Slavery was curbed/banned, in Saudi Arabia, by virtue of a law enacted decade ago!!!! and you're talking about the Judgment Day.
The slavery concept is still deeply entrenched in some countries.
I think higher ups would say "at least we are providing them with better income compared to their monthly/annual income in their home land".
They think they are making a huge favor to poor workers by brining them here to this part of the world.
In the end contracts are drawn and the least cost is bided. Even if the cost is human lives!
in the West people raise voices against this treatment. They protest, go on strike, the newspapers splash their stories on the front page, courts takes up their matters
Why doesnt this happen here in Middle East.
Where are the people
Where are the newspapers
Where are the courts
where are the human rights Commission
where are the NGOS
What kind of people are these who feel no remorse on treating other humans so badly. Are these muslims. Even athesist are better than these muslims who have no belief of the day of judgement.Do these muslims believe in the day of judgement? Do they believe in God is seeing everything. Do they believe in hell. Do they believe in punishment.
Who should be blamed for all the atrocities. is it the system. is it the religion or is it something else
what do the people of higher authority do when they read about the inhumane treatment of worker here in the Middle East.
Do they laugh or they feel sad
Do they feel pity, or is their conscience dead and they dont feel anything
Why dont I find it strange and apalling.
Happens every day here

That's pretty strong stuff! Sounds appalling. :o(
