University Housing and allowing cat (feline)
Please help. I am considering a longterm committment in Education City and would like to bring my Siamese cat. This is a multi-year contract. I believe this is a reasonable request and not a deal-breaker.
Q1 - Do all university affiliated housing compounds or university affiliated apartments (contracted by Education City campuses) allow a (pet) cat to reside with the employee in an apartment?
Q2 - Has anyone (reading this blog) signed a contract and later found that the employer provided housing did not allow a cat?
I am interested in comments from the HR side as well as annecdotal stories from anyone having experience with bringing a feline into Qatar. A close attorney friend said to ascertain whether or not the employment contract contains language regarding the allowance of pets in university sponsored housing.
There's a wide variety of housing for employees of Ed City, based on institution, position, family status, preference, etc. We got our housing guidelines about a year after we moved in and noticed a "no pets" clause. But the landlord just smiles at our Persian cat when he stops by. Your HR peson will know and will be able to guide you as to what choices are possible with a cat.
Ask the HR dept of the organization - if we don't know which organization you're joining - we can't comment
