Taking a dog back into the UK

Hi,

Does anyone know about taking a dog back into the UK from Qatar?

We have been here for 3 months and are returning to the UK. Our dog was vaccinated and tested for rabies before coming to Qatar, in the UK. I know the Defra website says that there needs to be a 3 month period from when the dog was tested for rabies, before returning to UK. However it also says:

The three month waiting period will not apply if your pet was vaccinated and blood tested in the EU and issued with an EU pet passport before it went to an unlisted country.

So we're not sure if he is able to enter UK without waiting for this 3 month period, or not.

If anyone is able to help it would be much appreciated!
