working opportunity for TESL graduate?
hello there, i would like to know whether is there is any possible working opportunity in Qatar for a TESL graduate like me? i am looking forward to work in an international school or junior college which offers English Language subject.Apart from that, i have 2 years solid teaching experience where currently i'm teaching matriculation students.Area of my interests is daily communications and also english for specific purposes.more over, i am also capable of teaching information technology for school children. i would be glad if anyone out there could reply or respond to my post on whom should i contact, what are the process and therefore how much would i be getting (approx) Thank you.
ali... i hope that you take this as constructive critisism.... but your written english is not what i would expect from someone with a B.Sc in TESL. Maybe thats why establishments only want native english speakers.... sorry... just trying to tell it how it looks.
"thanks for your respond"......Best Wishes....
thanks for your respond. yes, of course i have a Bachelor Science in Education specializing in TESL. (BSc.Ed.TESL). i am aware the fact that most of the school in Qatar require westerners or so called native speaker for their school, but i'm optimistic here that i'm hoping there will be school or institution that does not prejudice about others' qualification.anyway, thank you very much for your help dear. :)
You need at least a BA as well as your TESL to work here in Qatar, possibly even your Masters. You can try applying to any of the private schools here, there is a good list of them in the Mahabra. Unfortunatly it says in your profile that you are Malaysian, so do not expect a good reception, for the most part for TESL they want Western natural English speakers.
You can try going to daveseslcafe.com and asking there since those guys tend to know more about it, however they are far and away the rudest most digruntled people on Earth and will probably just rip you apart instead of actually trying to help you. Good Luck though. :)
