Work status of new nurse in Qatar
By caselogic22 •
I'm just curious what is the working status of newly hired nurse here in Qatar.. Especially if you are newly graduate nurse and want to pursue it here in Middle East, particularly here in Qatar. Is it difficult to work with your fellow employees (diffirent nationalitites)? Do you have a hard time dealing with your doctors (of different races)? Is there discrimination in terms of races? Is there much pressure if you are a fresh graduate hired in a hospital or private clinics? Is there any big difference working here in Qatar rather than in any other country? Does working here satisfy your profession as a nurse (both professionally and financially)?
Is it really mandatory to have two years experience for you to get approval from the supreme council of health?Because I apply in some hospital here and then they know that I only have 1 year experience, they give me an evaluation form and data flow sheet and told me that I come back when I have a data flow receipt and remarks of prometric exam.
Now I'm confuse on what to do first?
please help me..thanks!
1)Is there discrimination in terms of races?
There is definetly discrimination between races among the collegues. Most of the patients dont show any discrimination but some local women do treat the nurses like kadamas. The diff between a newbie and experienced is that the former will be in tears often and the later will just shrug it off and go on after all its the money they are after! But I must make a point that Filipinos are generally are very smart, efficient and have concern than the others
2)Does working here satisfy your profession as a nurse (both professionally and financially)?
professional satisfaction will be zero if not minus 100 but financially it is satisfying indeed
As long as I was informed by the SCH, if you want to work as a nurse in Qatar you must have 2 years of work experience in your own country to start with the procedures at SCH.
Why not you pay a visit to SCH and find more details about it? For sure they will guide you.
Best,
Is it also required to have 2 years work experience when taking Pormetric exam here in Qatar? Or is it only mandatory to those who will take the NHA licensure exam?
I can answer your first question only I mean the working status...Do you have any working experience as a nurse in your own country? Since obtaining a Nurse's license is manadtory here to work anywhere you must proov that you have 2 years work exp.Wait for others to answer your other questions.
if you are a fresh graduate, then adjustment and adaptations is a BIG must!
Im just interested...
