Good comment Salax. Thank you. I was unaware of that actually. Do you guys agree that the Q-Companies are the best?

Yes David those Qatar Companies you have mentioned are very respectful they know the value of a human beings, what you have said about accomodation and transport thats exactly the same what i was facing and no respect and no appreciation, working very hard but after all I just asked to have atleast leave me in Qatar till end of October so i can get a chance atlest to go for interview with QP or RsGs but they didnt want and they made my ticket and all the paper work immediately and on 16th they took me to the airport.

hope you find something in oil companies , wish you all the best. I left my CV in all oil companies but i dont know whether i will get a chance to be called for an interview without someone reminding them!

I'm not sure why the American companies here are so unscrupulous and deceitfull. But here is my experience working on base....The employers are extremely cheap and ungrateful of the sacrifices one makes just to work here. And they tend to be uneducated for some reason. I'm working on base now...the blatant acts of stupidity that i witness on a daily basis is appalling. Ernie it sounds like you worked for Dyn...Of all the companies in Qatar, that has to be the worst of them! This is exactly why i love Qatar. The Q companies respect you better and treat you better overall. The majority of the companies on base require you to live on base, or they pair you up with a total stranger and demand that u live with them. Your required to share a vehicle, accommodation's, you live, work , and your expected to party with people you normally wouldn't socialize with. Yet, if your lucky enough to work for a company like RasGas or Q.P or Q.G, the pay is excellent. Your not required to live with Strangers and the working hours are phenomenal. I'm hoping to get on board with Q.P or RasGas. The people that work for these companies are educated, polite, and well spoken, unlike some of the cretins i find working at my current place of work.

Im from NY too, i tried to fight the last two weeks a lot just to find any chance so i can go home and come back with new contract but no chance, i do really love living here as it is safe, cool life...people are nice apart from that I like the arabic culture and I met a girl was teaching me some more about Islam which impressed me a lot. but not lucky to find a job and my company decide not to wait. actually my story is so sad as the guy u just mentioned..I applied for short vacation because i had some family problems but as the comapany was in a position of downzising HR accepted my vacation and before my vacation for a week thy told me we decide you better go for good , i tried to beg but they said sorry its alredy decided by the management. I didnt know what to do or to say..as it is i was already in big s**t back home instead of sympathy from them i received another a*s kick!

the company i worked was also American maybe same company as the guy who was kicked bcz he was injured at work.

i agree with you ernie & david, Qatar is a nice & peaceful place though no much place to stroll but did we came here just to stroll? In Qatar, i found myself, my career growth and my personality. I rather stay in Qatar than any GCC countries.

Thats a shame really. So many peolple have bad things to say about Qatar, yet when its time to leave then they realize its a great peacefull place to work and live. Trust me, im from New York! I will keep you in my prayers ernie. Is it me, or has anyone else heard about the American that was sent home because he was injured at work. And the company that did this to him was an American company..I think i know the name of the company.
