Sydney Networker Planning to come to Qatar

Hello Guys,

I am a Cisco network Engineer, currently working as a Senior Network Engineer (on a Permanent position ) in one of the Australia's main Telecom service provider for a Bank Account. I hold Bs Degree in Computer Hardware Engineering and have obtained a number of Cisco Certifications in DATA/ Voice/ Design and Security. I have almost 12 years of experience in different IT fields which covers 3 years of performing as Senior Network engineer.
I have also worked in Dubai for one of the UAE's Banks for almost 3 years (2005-2008)

I am posting this topic to know your ideas and advices about what i have heard about Qatar while i am here in Sydney, compare what i know from UAE with what you know from Qatar and perhaps get more info to see what i am planning can be a good idea or not.
I am also an Australian Citizen, but not Born OZ.

What I heard about Qatar :
- is Tax free for employees
- is not Tax free for businesses , but if you run an IT based Business there is an exemption
- has got a perfect life style
- employers provide Medical / housing coverage / annual tickets/ bounces
- Considering WorldCup 2022 , Qatar will have a stable economy for at least 10-15 years
- Qatar has a more stable financial system, comparing to UAE and wont become a second Bankrupt Dubai.

What i plan:
- To find a job first in Doha to become stable there for at least a year or 2
- Start a Business in IT ( Network Infrastructure)
- Being a family man, Do you reckon that would be a good idea to move permanently to Qatar with the above plans in mind?
- What type of Salary / package /role do you guys reckon i'd be looking at to secure a position there?
- Do you reckon i can find something while i am here in sydney? or I need to plan my trip to be there , to get a chance for interview?
- Is there a chance for any government or a large size organisation role?
- where do i have to start from to get a chance for interview?

Your comments and advices are highly appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks mate , as I said I have just started checking the market in Qatar.all what I know about GCC goes back to 5 years ago when There was no financial issues around the globe. I heard the situation has changed a lot over there but still there might be a number of reasons someone may consider moving over there, like:

- the fact that you don't have to pay tax as an employee

- considering the financial status of the people and companies operating over there , it might be much easier to setup and run a business in GCC

- the GCC countries are somehow linked together, so it can be a very good platform if you have the right product to sell.

I believe there are a lot of reasons that make poeple from all around the world to consider coming to Qatar. When I was in UAE there were a significant number of wetsterners living there, I believe this is or will be the same case for Qatar as well. So if we want to think the otherway there should not be any OZs living in Qatar, or no network engineer can find a good life there.

As I said my aim is to move on to establish something like a small business to grow, not to be only an employee for ever, and as you reckon if I wanted to be an employee only , the missin is accomplished.

Thanks anyway...

First and foremost fact seems like u didn't know fact that Qatar has the most restrictive labor rules in GCC. so obviously you have not done any proper research.

you cannot change jobs once you are here. so if you don't like the job or would like to move on after a couple of years with your career it is absolutely not possible without the consent of employer and none of the IT companies here let's you go.

Being a CCIE i can tell you u will be really disappointed.

just curious Australia has demand for networkers and pay seems to be nice and are accepting application for PR, then why would you want to leave that place ?
