Qatar Visa

I receive an employment offer and signed it last April 13, 2017. I am in a formwork company and they gave me 6000 QAR all in all including my accommodation allowance and tranporatation allowance. Then, it's been two months since I've signed an offer and they still don't ask a copy of my passport and they never reply on my email with regards to my visa update. I called them last time and the HR personnel told me to wait, for the visa processing is at least a month. Is it normal to Qatar not to ask a copy of passport and process the visa without it? If ever, can you give me a number of months in waiting for my visa? And, is my salary enough? I am single, I don't live in luxurious life. It's my first time to apply in abroad and I am from the Philippines. I have another opportunity waiting for me in another country of middle east. But I really love to work in Qatar. Please help me.
