Hi All,

I came to know that in almost all Q Companies recruitment team give more preference to their family members, friend & known once to fill the job vacancies in their companies even though they have many CV's of people really eligible and deserved.

Recently i came to that QATALUM recruitment team is doing the same, Is that true and if its how can be it stopped.

Please give your valuable replies.

Thanks

LOL, I just hate the idiots who just claim things that are 100% false.

All companies would look at experience, education, but they wouldn't hire people just to hire them. They would need an "open position", and they would want to evaluate many people who's CV matches the requirements, and chose ONE person to fill that position.

Get a life, ans stop whining on QL.

I heared people saying thtRecruitment Team many oil co's and co's like Qatalum consisting a group of indian soceity is working with hidden agenda to recruit their oen community. Also it was shocking to hear that they tear off cv's of eligible candidates in other communities and push their own people..need every co.mgmt to be aware abt this, and HR Must be a Mixtured community.

hmmm..that's quite sad to know after reading all your replies... I was interviewed by Qatar Airways the 1st week of Oct 2008 and I have accepted their offer. But unfortunately, until now I still did not receive any updates on the status of my application. I really want to work in Qatar and by the way, baldrick I am an industrial engineer. I just thought if you are looking for one.. I am willing to apply.. :)

Which Qatalum recruitment team are you talking about? The client or one of their many contractors. I'm on the Qatalum project and possibly on the look out for skilled engineers.

BTW, I just looked at your profile. 18-25 means very little experience. Maybe this is why you are beng overlooked.

Did you Google it first?

LUCK! LUCK!! LUCK!!! work best... so keep trying-keep up your hope!!!!

You are right NB- But why you worried about Arab World(Middle East)- leave them- if they don't care you... why you care them.. just collect money like rest... keep looking for better places.... and move ahead....

It is free WORLD... Think FREELY... Work as you like...

There is always another chance... another place...Another GOOD LUCK.... Another HOPE.... World is big Qatar (Doha) is smaller... even Middle East is small compared with rest of the world...

Hi All

Maybe the possibilities of getting hired thru an agency will be much greater. I am speaking to say that I have been offered an employment with one of the Q's thru an agency. Yes again it is another Indian national, but I could not see any reason as to why they're preferring their nationals. See for yourself. My agent is an Indian, the HR is an Indian, the immediate superior that I am reporting to is also an Indian though finally the interviewer is an Arab. FYI I am a Malay/Singaporean decent. They look upon my abilities and experience; not my qualifications. I believe it is LUCK that everyone needs

i do not offend any one , but to speak frankly most of qataris also do not care about that , they care about appearance , clothing , cars, they are not professionals most of them want to work in government in order to get the benfites only and most of the real work is handeled by other nationalities . of course there are very excellent qataris , but they are rare with respect to the whole qataris.

it is matter of culture not matter of mony.

askme your absolutely right, on the web site we can c people to be contacted for any queries regarding the applied job, But never we could manage to get them on phone nor the telephone operator give their direct number & Email id, If the people don’t want to answer our queries why the hell their name is on website

Yes you are right... You can see lots of vacancies in big oil, gas and construction companies here but even you apply hundred time, they will never call or email you. They never advertise in newspaper too. Even you managed to reach the company, you are not allowed to meet & talk to HR manager of company. Some stupid Indian or Philippine lady (90 % case) will reply you in very unpleasant tone and your CV may end up in dustbin.

Sometimes even you managed to get interview, the guy/girl taking interview will be far less qualified and have less skills than yourself.

You are judged by PASSPORT you hold and reference you have- your education and working experience does not matters.

Almost everywhere you will find Indians or Philippine only.. and working very cheap. I feel that they have spoiled the market by favoring their own people and working very cheap. Among Indians also- most of them are south Indians... so you can imagine how racist they are.

Qatar look like one of the part of India rather than any Arab nation. You can manage all your life if you know Hindi or Tamil (south Indian Language).

I feel that Qatar is already invaded my Indians and Philippines.

This is same things happened in Malaysia when first Indian got change to work in IT companies in Malaysia.. favoritism! when Malaysian government come to know about it, they ban all Indians from working in big IT/Multinational companies and government took over.

I feel that unless and until there will be fair recruitment policy based on competition and talent introduced by government, Qatar situation will become more worse than better.

it is totaly true , it depends only on recommendations not on qualifications. forget to find job without knowing someone in the organization.

this behaviour is very common in qatar , and that is affect the system of work and you can realize that for customer service of Telecom. company , if they are selected well then you can see good performance in problem solving because they are good to fill the position.

that is also why most of gulf are indians , coz they bring their relatives and friends regardless of fittness and qualifications , that is the key of indianization in qatar beside their small salary.

Hello,The days are gone when you can think of getting good job in gulf countries.Now-a-days,you may not even get a call/mail for interview from the recruiter as your resume is rejected by some smart and cunning guys in the same organistion even if you have the relevant certifications and experience. The companies will post the jobs on their websites just as a formality but finally these jobs will be filled with less competent guys who are the relatives/friends of those cunning guys in the same organistion. This is true in the case of companies like Qatar Petroleum etc.For example,SAP recruitment process in QP now is 100 percent illegal as many qualified guys

are not considered even for the initial phase of interview so as to reserve the posts for the lucky relatives/friends of those cunning guys in QP.So stop dreaming now.
