Qatar or Abudhabi? Tell me what you think

So I got a job offer in Doha and one in AbuDhabi.

I am only 21 years old and this is my first job, so the pay isn't exactly a major concern of mine right now.
The pay is pretty much the same though, and I think chances of advancement in Doha are much better than Abudhabi.

Which country would you say is nicer?
I know Dubai is a much better place than Doha, but problem is that I would still have to drive there and petrol isn't cheap, and then with all the things there are to do in Dubai, I would probably spend ALOT of money.

I'm not sure if this makes sense.

Advice on prices generally of things in both cities, and if Abudhabi is MUCH better than Doha?

Thanks in advance!

for me as suggestion better here in Doha, rather than in Abu dhabi, too much expensive there, specially in housing..

I think you're 21 and you need to find a balance between your social life and your career.  Abu Dhabi will offer you that balance much more than Doha will.  I'm not sure where your getting the idea that Doha would be better for your career, if anything the companies working in Abu Dhabi and Dubai are far more established and respected world wide.

I think you're generalizing if you say the chances of advancement in doha are much better than in auh. That will depend more on what company you're working for, and whether its private/semi/govt. Yes its true to some extent that doha looks more promising and confident at the moment, while auh is now slowing down growth plans and major public spending.

Abu dhabi is much more developed infrastructure wise than doha, and the quality of living is currently higher in auh/dxb than doh. UAE itself is bigger than doha, so there is much more to do on weekends, long drives, endless malls, etc etc. Prices of essentials are almost the same, n rents too are almost similar in auh & doh (dxb rents are cheaper). But maybe auh has more variety/choice available than doh in terms of accomodation.

overall I think your choice can also depend on your lifestyle/preferences, auh/dxb are much more happening and maybe more fun than doha.

Don't forget that alcohol is a lot more expensive in Doha, so going out in Doha would actually be more expensive.

Miss Mimi is right...Abu Dhabi is nice and the cost of living is cheaper compared with Qatar. Don't worry about the petrol, it is more cheaper than in your country so you could still enjoy driving from Abu Dhabi to Dubai and it is just 1hr travel.

When it comes to spending, it will just be the same if you are in Qatar or in Dubai. In Qatar, there will be more tendency that you will spend more as there is no much places to go except to their 3 malls.

I lived in Doha for 5 years and have been living in Abu Dhabi for almost 1 year.   I LOVE Abu Dhabi.  There's more to do and the cost of living is cheaper and Dubai is only an hour up the road.
