POSSIBLE JOB OFFER IN DOHA, QATAR

I am a Filipino guy who applied for a librarian position online (www.jobsdb.com). The name of the school is Asian International School which is located in Doha, Qatar. I've recently had my online interview with the Manpower Coordinator who is designated here in Manila. I've checked the status of the school in Doha online and still nothing appeared on my search. During the course of the interview, the coordinator mentioned it is a new school in Doha. I've asked the coordinator about the manner by which they do the recruitment process and also the agency they represent in the Philippines. All she said was that she isn't the right person to answer it and they don't have an agency here in the Philippines. All she does is manpower pooling and contacting all the shortlisted applicants.
They have scheduled me for an online panel interview with the Board of the said school on Thursday and I am looking forward to it.
Any thoughts about it? I hope I am not into scam or something...

By the way I'm applying for School Librarian in the said school. I've passed one of their requirements of 5 years experience in the field.
She also mentioned about my expected salary for the position. I have given her a range which is 30,000 pesos - 60,000 pesos. Would that be reasonable enough? This would be my first job offer abroad and I do not have any idea about the compensation package. I want some good feedbacks... Thanks..

hello, can anyone give us the exact address so that we can check this out..if they r goin to open by june we cannot possibly enter into this school..bcoz other schools enrolment will end at the end of this month..so the chances that they can attract more students is so small compare to other schools who announces their enrolment much earlier. just give us the exact address and anyone can visit the school to check, and the parents have an option which one they r goin to choose.

I did apply for a position on AIS too. I was also interviewed last night by their Manpower Head. I saw their add on the bulletin board of our school. I never taught that it is a fraud, because I don't think our school will post something which is uncertain. Lodging will be provided by them as well as for the transportation...That was my second time to be interviewed via ym (the first one was with them too for the initial interview).

Since the locals from Doha are also applying for some positions, they will just inform the successful applicants by the end of this month. The following points were discussed:

The school visibility online is still pending as they are still on the process of registration.

They do not represent any agency here in the Philippines as to cut back the expenses of the applicants. It appears to be a direct hiring.

Air fares and accommodations are free (so far that was the only thing mentioned about the compensation package)

Successful applicants will be given notification of the other needed requirements

I'm keeping my fingers crossed... Wish me luck!

During the interview, ask them where exactly in Doha the school is located.

being an Asian, Ido have some info about the Asian school in Doha. So far such school is not known. So you should be careful.

Better ask for a written document, which shows their physical address, contact numbers , CR number etc etc. This will help you to find out the reality

I will let you know what is going to happen after the online panel interview this Thursday. Thank you.

By the way, are you from Doha? Could this really be a new school there? I really have no idea about it. I've checked the Qatar Schools Database here on this website and that school is not included.

You are right to be cautious. The Asian International School, Doha, can't be found in any web search except your post in QL and the jobsdb page you cite. I guess I'd say don't give them any money up front! Do more research, sorry we can't reassure you.
